Plot/Story
Maou-sama, aka The Demon King (level 2000) is bored... He's sick of killing people and tired of world destruction schemes. Komomo (level 0, Hero) shows up at the demon king's castle to defeat him. This is her first heroic deed, and the first step along the road to becomming a rich hero who lives in a house with a red roof and a fireplace and a white picket fence. Unfortunately for her, she too weak to even harm the Demon King. Not only that, but the Demon King decides that he must marry this beautiful girl and refuses to fight her, instead declaring his love (much to the disgust of his evil minions). The Hero runs away, and the Demon King follows, to begin their story of travels across their world and the DK's attempts to win the friendship (and love) of Komomo-chan.

Characters
Komomo-chan, Level 0, Hero
Completely broke and has lived a life of poverty since her mother died. She is following her dream to become a great hero, and one day save enough money to build her dream home.

Maou-sama, Level 2000, Demon King, Evil?
Has given up the post of Demon King and decided to team up with Komomo. He has the arm of the Lycanthrorpe, which gives him the tremendous power of Wolf and Demon.

Head Evil Minion
Resents Maou-sama's carefree attitude and longs to be the demon king himself.

There are many more characters, and this manga has lots of individual stories (with unique characters) but they come later, and are either not related, or to speak about them here would be somewhat of a spoiler).

Drawing Style
The drawing style is absolutely beautifully cute, the girls are kawaii and the guys are bishi's. The manga-ka was only 18 when she made this, but this girl has definite talent. I could read this manga twice over, just to enjoy the cute character designs.

Enjoyment
Right from the first few pages, i knew i would enjoy this manga, with its cliché breaking events and stereotypical characters. The worst thing about this manga, is that It's only 2 volumes long, so the story is kind of short (but sweet). The good news is that there is a follow up series (in the same world) called Dear.
Apart from the shortness, the story is freshly original and keeps surprising you. It also revolves around several different characters (for example the 2nd volume starts from a different angle) and there are several one shot stories.

Overall
An excellent short manga series, and well worth the hour or so it takes to read. The characters are very believable and easily capture both your interest and empathy.

An ABSOLUTE dissapointment! by Hermit-chan on December 5th, 2008, 10:01am

An Incredibly Dumb-Plotless manga which shows no backstory of any of the characters. Watashi no Ookami-san is an inferior-alternate version of the Superior manga.

If you're looking for Hot Bishies-Cute-Cliche read, then this manga is DEFINITELY for YOU.

"with its cliché breaking events and stereotypical characters." should be "with its cliché breaking events and non-stereotypical characters."

Gomen ^^;;
