Plot/Story
This manga is kind of weird and so the first few volumes really make people twitch with anger with the level of weirdness. But after the first few volumes Reborn! really turns out to be a great manga with action, humor, suspense and so much more!

Tsuna Sawada is a loser through and through. He does not have motivation to do anything and is looked down on everyone in school. His grades are really pathetic and so it's no wonder his carefree mother decided to hire a home tutor for him. Reborn, a 1 year old infant makes the scene. He introduced himself as a mafia assassin and is here to not to tutor Tsuna with his school grades, but to tutor him and turn Tsuna into the Vongola's 10th mafia boss. Is this a chance for Tsuna to shine?

The first 60 chapters or so was a let down, a disaster, a party pooper, but like the story and characters, this boring manga with weird plot and undeveloped characters reborn into something much much better. It reborn into a masterpiece. For those who have yet to read this manga, give it a try cause it's really something. Don't let the first 60 chapters turn you away. Chapter 62 is where the real plot start, but the first 61 chapters are introduction to the characters. It's annoying but the first 61 chapters are needed and should not be skipped.

Characters
Each and every characters has his or her unique characteristic that you rarely see in other stories! Tsuna, the main character is a loser in and out of school. His personality to run away when trouble starts is quite annoying, but Tsuna's role developed for being an annoyance to one of Reborn! fave character.

Reborn, Hayato, Takeshi, Lambo, Bianchi, Hibari and Ryohei, their personality and role develop just like Tsuna. Each and every character holds a suspense card and will sooner or later reveal it to you.

Drawing Style
Tsuna really reminds me of Eyeshield 21. The story seem to blend in well together since Eyeshield 21 in the beginning was weird as well. I checked it out and turns out the mangaka is totally different. *sigh* Reborn is just too darn cute in each and every panel. The girls are sweet and the guys...bishie? Especially Hayato and Hibari >_<
Enjoyment

Overall
I COMMAND YOU TO READ THIS MANGA!! It's trully a masterpiece! The plot in the begiing really turns people around but give it a try. It's when the story turned into a suspense and action machine that really makes you go "ahhh, this is so worth the trouble reading the first 61 chapters of weirdness". This is what i promise you, SO read it. *grins*

Nice. First 61 chapters, eh? Well that's a lot to ask but okay...
Was never sure if I should read this or not because I remember trying to twice before just quitting in the middle of the first chapter when the "home tutor" arrived. But since I JUST finished Eyeshield 21 and loved it, I'll give it a try. Thanks for mentioning that.

The introduction arc wasn't THAT bad. . I found all the little jokes funny and it didn't bore me at all. It helps see how much Tsuna has grown and it is mad up of the memories he wants to protect. The beginning is as good as any other part of the manga.

ughhh you could always just read enough of the beginning until you get bored... then just skip to chapter 62 and just read the summary at the beginning of the that volume (well there has to be a summary somewhere) but yeah gets extremely good at that point. highly recomend that manga. but yeah alot of the chaps in the first 60 feel like fillers and somewhat irrelevent. all you really get is character introductions and some character insights. you dont really miss much outside of the introductions i think.

60 chapters to get to the good stuff...oh boy... by Takiko on March 21st, 2007, 12:20pm

Hahaha, I hope the reviewer doesn't take personal offence to this but...

"The first 60 chapters or so was a let down, a disaster, a party pooper, but like the story and characters, this boring manga with weird plot and undeveloped characters reborn into something much much better. Personally, that's asking a lot to invest in a series. That's 6 volumes to struggle through. I suppose if one wants to put in the effort but why should one have to with a manga title? I suppose if one is bored or has run out of things to read. This is just how I see it though. At least the people who read this review get warned, while a random reader will not... >_>
