I'm not sure if anything really changed my worldview, so to speak, but there were manga that made me think more, resonated more, and feel more.

I'm going to second 7 Seeds. It can get very sad at some parts, and I think it is one of the saddest mangas ever that isn't just a tragedy manga.
Gintama also has sad arcs as well, for all that it is a gag-like manga.
