New Poll - Goals
(16 posts, 2326 views) Posted: over 6 years ago by CuthienSilmeriel in News
I'm a phd student so definitely knowledge is my life's goal. The only other thing I want to do besides biological research is open an animal shelter, which I guess could count as spirituality?

New Poll - Long Series

I wouldn't say there's a definite limit, as I've read amazing longer series and terrible shorter ones. What matters is the story telling. As long as the story is well told then the length doesn't matter.
For example, Banana Fish is amazing and only gets better as it goes ...

With regards to the previous poll, I voted 'a lack of money'. I'm 28, but a full time student. When I was working I had the money to buy merchandise, and I did, but then I suffered more from a lack of space since Japanese apartments are tiny. Also, I often didn't want wha...

My first anime was the original johto league Pokemon series when I was about 10. I was also obsessed with the game around the same time, much like everyone else I guess. It's hard to say which was first.

In answer to your question about re-reading, my favourite series is Banana Fish. I've read it easily 20-30 times if you count both English and Japanese together. It's 19 volumes long, but so good. I notice new things every time I read it. I admit that changing languages h...

I don't know how old you would consider an old person to be, but I'm still a student at 27 so maybe there aren't as many young uns as you'd think. Some of us just refuse to stop learning, lol.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I don't know where else to put it.

Since this is getting out of hand and I don't want to devote any more energy to an Internet debate, let's just agree to disagree.
P.S. Of course I've finished manga, I just don't keep them in my completed list.

Nation pride tells me to choose England, but honestly we haven't a chance. I'm putting money on either Brazil, Argentina or the Netherlands to win it.
The Netherlands have a ridiculously strong team this year, and have been playing much better than any other team recently....

Is this Cool?: Sword Balancing on Shoulder
(12 posts, 1087 views) Posted: over 9 years ago by CuthienSilmeriel in Chatter Box
I can't picture it working either. Even with the best balance in the world, your movements would be highly restricted and you'd end up knocking into everything. I would really be intimidated by an opponent balancing a sword on their shoulder, just confused.
