"Year 252 M.C, in this era which plants are almost extinct and the land is barren, a strange disease developed. 'Shinigami's flower,' the unique lethal flower that carries death." The disease is curable if found in the early stages but if left till transformation stage it becomes lethal and the only option left is extermination. The story has a strong start in its first 3-4 chapters. But once its over-arching plot begins, everything falls apart. The pacing becomes uneven, nobody's motivations make sense anymore, people die for no reason whatsoever, the action is hard to read, etc. etc.
The final arc even deals with a boring end-of-the-world scenario based on a mechanism that has nothing to do with the shinigami flowers. I'm genuinely confused how such a thing could possibly happen to a story.

WOW! AMAZING!! This series is unpredictable! How did the author think of such an intriguing concept? For every chapter, I'm just so scared. LOL. I never know what this author will do next. New things can pop up at any moment.
I adore the characters too. Every character is distinct, and will have room for growth. I look forward to reading more. If you have read Karakara Kemuri's other works, such as Laughing Under the Clouds or :REverSAL, this will not disappoint you. I really wish this series was licensed in English!
