Description
Kominato Riku is a high-school student who aims to be a game designer. The girl next door is his childhood friend, Haju, who is in love with him, but he has fallen head over heels for the school idol Riko. And lastly, there is the transfer student, Nodoka. With that all said you’d think this is the start of some love-comedy harem, but a rumor spreads that Nodoka's received a message that says, “you will die soon”. Riku and the gang’s fate will change in a major way. Who will live, and who will love?

Yeah, it really is. Simply terrible from a story point of view. I believe the rest of the author's works were fairly light weight romance types........yeah, they were completely over-matched trying to take on a psychological/mystery. It just ate their lunch......an absolute mess.
A good concept to start with, yes, but that was the end of it. It essentially became nothing but a hodge-podge of ideas strung together. You really couldn't read a single chapter without saying to yourself........"aw, c'mon, that doesn't even make sense" >_<
Oh well.

If you are reading the reviews, then you are here for either two reasons. 1 - You stumbled upon this manga and are simply curious about reading wanting to know if it's good. 2 - You are out of things to read and this series picked your interest so you want to know the thoughts of those who read it.
Please don't read it, if you are looking for a decent story this not for you... You can pass time reading it but you'll regret wasting your time doing it.
The reason why people below gave this such high ratings, it's just because they must like Yandere and Horror/Thriller. I like genres like those too, but it has to be a good story, cohesive and such.
Since it's a high school setting if this isn't supernatural it has to at least make sense and be somewhat realistic. All preferences aside if the story development isn't good no matter what are your tastes, you won't like it. But this one just doesn't have a story worth reading.
You might think this review and what I right next stupid, maybe making you even get more interested to read this series, but I'll just emphasize one thing that makes this manga incredibly stupid, without spoiling much:

I generally love any manga with a yandere in it and this wasn't an exception. Though I loved the Majority of this manga the ending could have been a little better or at the very least made more sense(besides the yandere that ending totally makes sense for her).
Hahaha. What a fucked up manga. The ending is just lazy, rushed, and mediocre.

Rushed. Had good potential for the first 5 or so chapters, but the story simply degenerated from there, it is clear from how rushed the ending was that this webcomic was axed or the mangaka got bored/gave up.
The ending though...sigh.
So fucked up, loke the mangaka wanted to one-up school days' bad end.

Mousugu Shinu Hito starts out at a medium pace before submerging you into the plot of the story. Unlike most thriller mangas, the mangaka didn't waste too much time fluffing out the characters, instead he decided on the learn-as-you-go approach which I will admit does work for this particular story. Like the reviewer before me, the style of art is fairly modern with nice shading used throughout reminiscent to a lesser extent; of the art style used in Black bullet. Overall, I found this manga to be good, but not great and here is why.
The main male character Kominato Riku, is heavily indecisive. I understand this is par the course in most male driven harem storylines (I haven;t read reversed harems to be sure if this is the same with the other sex). But his indecisiveness is particular annoying because Riku is fairly ignorant. Being our male protagonist we rely on Riku to solve the mysteries surrounding his world and bring the truth to life. However, Riku seems more concerned with having a normal life. I don't see this as particularly bad, but if that is really his motive than simply ignoring the situation he and his friends who are ultimately in danger certainly isn't the right action. Let he repeats this, often waiting until the last minute when everything has gone down the rabbit hole before turning on his brain to at least attempt to solve the mysteries. However, his laziness in that aspect actually gives the story it's true driving force. The breaking sanity of the girls around Riku as he stumbles upon chance after chance to actually go out and solve the problem plaguing his friends. The insanity, deceiving, and backstabbing are really the hallmarks of this story. With the answer of who's behind it all looming over their head as a catalyst to keep going. Do I like this story?
Well yeah! It's good, the art is nice, and the pacing is quick and decently spaced. But a more decisive male lead to not only keep the girls trust but broach the answers to the mysteries around him and claim his normal life again would have been great.

This manga is simply amazing. Very quickly you are put into a common setting for the beginnings of a bland and uninspired harem manga with a very modern art style. Though soon after the first chapter is the story ramped up as you learn what happens when the threat of death and doom on the mindset of a high school girl will do to them. Pushing some to insanity and others to new levels of scheming. The main character caught in-between as he struggles to find a solution or clues to what is exactly happening around him. This is a horror-thriller first, harem second.
