Maybe I'm Missing Something?

I read this and really couldn't find myself enjoying it as much as others seemed to have.

I'm not sure if it was the wording or the translation I read but it felt awkward and the character dialogue just felt strange and off. It was really just a cute, repetitive shoujo one-shot that pops up every once in a while.

Even though it really wasn't all that bad, you really won't be missing out on much if you pass it up.

Art feels more josei than shoujo (in a good way). Nice, quite pleasant in its execution and delivery is short and sweet. Reads like a particularly vulnerable kodak moment captured. Makes you relive the mortification of growing up and confessing all over again. Thankfully, the lack of sissy-dom (in the heroine) or taciturn-ity for the sake of machismo (from the guy's perspective) was missing so it kept the story light, refreshingly free of misunderstandings and relatable.

Cute and lighthearted.

Seriously, this oneshot was done nicely by the author and comes up with a few heartwarming moments. The characters seem pretty cute, for example when they are getting all shy and flustered, while facing the other. This natural awkwardness just makes the whole setting kind of believable, especially when thinking about the characters age and their situation.

The drawing style is really likeable, too. It shows some modern styles and is rather "clean", but is also not forgetting the basics. All in all, this oneshot is one of the modern day Shoujos, that is actually picking up the positive aspects and mixes them into something worth it's while. ^^
