I don't laugh out loud much when reading manga, but here the combination of the cutely drawn little schoolgirl and the nuttiness of her struggles to be social are irresistible.

I fully made through all 100 chapters of this tediousness. Every page of 4koma starts and ends the same way, Bocchi, main heroine of the story, is trying to overcome her psychological problems, shyness, panic, etc. She comes up with an idea, tries to execute it, nothing works, everyone giggles at her, she faints, those around her pretend they were just kidding and the cycle begins again. And again. And again. I was honestly trying to make sense of Bocchi's bullying. And no, she is NOT JUST SHY, her problems are mental. And seeing her classmates become "friends" out of pity and most of them pretty much disappear from the plot is just dumb and stupid.
And not in the "aw, so adorable" way, unfortunately. At least, not for me.
The central conceit still strikes me as ...odd. And the manga would've been much improved by having Sunao as the main character. I get what the mangaka was going for, but like with the MC herself, it just didn't really land.

This is probably my favorite ongoing 4koma at this time. It's adorable and hilarious. Wrote a review for it explaining what I like about it at length, but the long and short of it is that the author keeps things fresh by starting with a premise that demands character development and new characters. 4koma can often get old, this one doesn't seem like it will.
