The main character, Hazel (Maron in the original Japanese version), sets off to catch Pokémon after a scientist named Grandpa agrees to make a love potion if she catches Pokémon. Hazel is after the heart of a boy named Almond. Most of the Pokémon in the manga series can speak a human language. The manga's plotline has nothing to do with the original video games.

This was my first manga... before I even knew that comic books still existed '_____' (I thought they went extinct with my dad's youth in the 70s).
Really adorable Pokemon doujin (though I guess it's a manga since its officially liscenced by Nintendo; they asked the mangaka to make it). I should invest in the VIZ books (VIZ published them in thin, 2 chapter per book format, which I have a few of). There's a spin-off too, she's been into Pokemon from the beginning!
