i know it’s not that good. but i read this when i was younger & it made such an impression on me. still very nostalgic over the plot line. i loved how full of life the characters were and how genuinely funny this was. few manhwas can actually make me laugh and i giggled at most chapters here.
upon reread, all i can see is that they are still young and insecure, but they’re changing, bettering themselves. and it’s odd to hate them for that. i still think the friendship between cherry & berry is so funny (speaking of the names are too!), and berry & walnut are so cute together. walnut is still a very communicative, direct, honest, sweet ml but he of course has faults i didn’t catch when i was younger. yes darin is obviously incredibly unwell which was frustrating to read but made for a really fascinating, unique character. you don’t see a lot of fleshed out characterizations like that, and i’m still astounded at how well he’s written. at points you pity him, despite how abusive and obsessive he is - there’s something viscerally sad about him and the life he was born into.
but i feel the same critiques as others are peddling: the ending is terribly short, leaves a lot unexplained about their future relationships. especially regarding where darin was in life. like i’m glad darin finally stopped obsessing over berry & their “love story” came to a good end. kind of leaves pierre/pear’s life hanging though like it’s never really resolved or confirmed what he felt for darin! only mildly hinted at. perhaps a spin off observing what happened to them would feel more conclusive. yes, the misunderstandings were frustrating still, but not terribly so that it’s impossible to read. the payoff is good, and i think it’s all just a study on how tangled & complicated relationships can be.
the character development was wonderful. berry’s growing maturity was so lovely to read, and her ending reflections were so thoughtful. you end up really feeling for her (and frankly everyone - they all read as so real, and their motivations as complicated and poorly communicated, but very realistic to who they are), even if at the beginning she’s not amazing. of course, female solidarity goes a long way when manhwas are so commonly misogynistic toward other women. also i remember complaining ab the art before but it does steadily get better.
overall would’ve liked more from the ending but it remains as fresh & funny as i remembered it! and yet it still has a emotional punch, a symptom of how evergreen its writing is.

I had this one the back burner for a bit so I could binge it when I was in the mood and had time.. I should have left it burning... It started on a fairly comedic tone but falls flat on pretty much everything else. Serious content just falls flat and it felt like the author didn't know how to resolve relationship issues in a meaningful way. I also felt like the author just hated the Male MC and created a prince character for the Female MC instead. I almost feel like I wasted my time reading this.

Frankly the most complex character in the series Mandarin Kim is written off as a creepy stalker. While the Berry is given the spotlight of victim? (Berry going out with Darin in my view was just wrong in the first place since she didn't actually like him and knew he had a gf)

Starts out as a really wacky and absurd comedy manga about horrible people and crossdressing, and then becomes a serious, incredibly dour romantic drama about those same bad people. And then it goes on like that for WAY TOO FUCKING LONG. It's like if partly through the second season of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia they decided to make it a serious drama and then kept it that way for 14 seasons. These characters are bad people and that's what makes them funny, but you can't expect someone to actually give a shit about their drama like that.
The whole point of the story is that Cherry is a manipulative douchebag who wants Berry all for himself, but she's already rightly given up on him for being a POS. So obviously he has to learn how to actually be a decent person and realize how much he hurts her. Obviously that's the conclusion, you don't need like fucking 80 chapters to get there. If it was 30 or 40 it would've been a neat novelty series, but the way they stretch this shit out is so boring, full of drama that doesn't go anywhere and characters that do nothing but take up space. All the development happens in the first 30 chapters and the rest is just wheels spinning.

This comment is all over the place, but I cannot be bothered to do better.
The first few chapters show the breakup of Strawberry (Berry) and Mandarin (the citrus fruit). Mandarin also was a Cherry for a while. (Straw)Berry
Though I've never read it or watched Twilight, I do think it might have a better story. I hope my little prologue above helps you understand how I feel about this Manhwa.
On a more serious note, there is little to say about this Food Basket of a story. It's isn't great, it's annoying. The last 30 chapters made up for it, but most of the time I just wanted to get to the end. It just too messed up and the way certain characters turned on one another just felt out of character.
Also, this is the first time, that I read a story with so many imageless/arrowless speech bubbles, and was not sure who was saying them. It just expected you to figure them out. Maybe in Korean with Gendered words, it would have been obvious.
The following names actually exist in the Manhwa: Strawberry (Berry), Cherry, Mandarin, Pear (Chilli paste), Walnut, Sage and Sausage Fest High. The author has a food fetish.

finally fell in love with

jumped in and tried to get Strawberry and Cherry together,
because he's a bitch too. One of my major gripes is Sage's character (a herb) should have been replaced with a Broccoli or maybe a Pumpkin. Ah, my first introduction to webtoons. A weird start, but it tourn out different and good!

Recently completed reading the entire series over the last few months. The MCs don't really improve much from the beginning but at least one of them realize their relationship was unhealthy. I feel like a lot of the side stories weren't resolved other than last minute change of heart decisions.

I tried this webtoon once and stopped after a few chapters because the heroine was so annoying.
Keep going! Like other commenters say by chapter 15 you see more dimensions of the characters. But really I think this webtoon should have ended by chapter 50 or something, beyond that it's just annoying stereotypical drama and isn't done very well. If it ended earlier this would be a 10.

I really like this manhwa, although at first it seems as if they just took scenes directly from a Korean drama and redrew it. The art style is pretty good. The characters aren't perfect, even in real-life people aren't perfect so I find this a pro rather than a con. The plot twists aren't predictable, the author is good at doing that. It gets really cute at times, but also gets frustrating from the drama.
(This should totally become a drama)
