Description

Gakuen Heaven is the story of Oshino Makoto in his attempt to become a teacher, in order to fulfill a promise made to his childhood friend and first love Koiwai Ayano, who also promised that when they see each other again they will get married. Unfortunately, he fails miserably and ends up as a substitute teacher in an all-girls private school governed by his grandmother. He meets a lot of female students there, especially Narusawa Tsugum; as well as a teacher who resembles his long lost first love, Asagiri Ayano. He even becomes the love interest of the substitute principal, his cousin Kyoko.

It's really hard to believe that a manga like this can sell enough copies in order for it to keep going. What's even harder to believe is that an artist would devote several years of his life to drawing this manga. This story just doesn't have a single redeeming feature. I read the first 2 volumes and I couldn't read anymore.

Normally, I am rather lenient with my ratings but this series just annoyed the hell out of me. It is mostly about a dumb loser substitute teacher solving sexual harassment cases involving his all female classes. Meanwhile, he is getting vagina thrown at him at every direction.

Molesters, perverts and rapists round out the cast. New plots tend to open up while old plots are left dangling or resolved hastily, creating such a jarring read that occassionally I wondered if I missed a chapter or two. No one ever gets more than a slap in the wrist for their offences despite being caught for felony level crimes. In more modern mangas, you'd expect this series to recieve the bad School Days style endings which ironically would be a vast improvement.

Somehow, despite the sex offenders, the story reads as a generic badly written harem story. The standard cast of violent girl, childhood friend, pervert rival, glasses girl, little sister, sports girl etc. are all there to pair up with the extra dumb helping of glasses wearing failure. The only saving grace is that the art is okay.

mangum44 basically said what I wanted to say about this crappy manga. Its really ridiculous, no plot to speak of, shallow characters, no character development, arcs that deal with more or less the same problems, loser protagonnist with no redeeming facts whatsoever and stays the same indecisive loser even at the end of the manga and the girls are nothing more than sex toys for the perverted teachers to feast upon. The main girl is an idiot while I like the second girl abit more but not by much. All in all, a very dissapointing manga, even though it started off with some promise

The art is excellent, but that's the only redeeming quality of this piece of garbage. It starts out well enough - a young teacher, a childhood promise, and a sudden reunion - not particularly imaginative, but it sort of made me think of "Love Hina in a high school setting, with adult main characters". But it goes downhill from there, and how!

Apart from that bit, there is no plot to speak of. No real tension, no real development, and not even anything particularly funny. The main female character even sets up a sex schedule. I forget but it goes something like kissing one week, 2nd base the next week, and sex the week after that. They adhere to it strictly. It's about as romantic as it sounds (not at all), as funny as it sounds (not at all), and it even fails at being sexy.

Then there are the happenings at the school, which is full of would-be-molesters, lecherous teachers, each with a more asinine plot than the next in order to get some underage tail. It's sad to read once, and it's pathetic that the author can't think of something different and basically recycles this lousy idea with several different teachers.

Finally, the characters couldn't possibly be more unsympathetic. The main girl is such an idiot, devoid of personality and basically little more than a vehicle for the character to get laid and bring the reader the aforementioned lackluster titillation. The second girl is, again, an idiot, and also quite the slut. I guess it's supposed to be funny, but it isn't - better written mangas have pulled off this sort of character, but it doesn't happen here. And lastly the "hero", who is a typical loser so common to the harem genre, but who completely lacks the warmth that makes other harem main guys lovable, or even tolerable.

This series attempts to straddle the divide between comedy and hentai, and fails at both.

It's a great series, unfortunately, i dunno whether it's being updated or not...but according to Yanime webs, it's still on active projects, so a hope it'll continue to complete this manga...ciayo...!!

I am tired of reading this now, Can someone tell me the ending? Like other's said, there is no plot, the only thing that develops is his relationship (sex-wise). other than that, i liked the sex, so i gave it a 5. Would've gave it a 6 but premature ejaculators dont deserve a 6!

The plot is virtually nonexistent (but this manga is just for laughs, so I doubt the "plot" would exist anyway), and whatever plot there really is almost evaporates in the heat of all the cute girls. Seriously now, the only reason to actually read this manga is for the girls, as U-Jin is an extraordinary artist, but besides that, the plot leaves it shallow and not interesting for those actually seeking a plot. The individual girls, however, do make for an interesting harem gang.

I should warn those that actually read this to be wary of the first few chapters, it makes it seem that a plot would've been developed had they actually tried to, but IMO it was more rushed and intertwined too much with all the "side-plots" to be considered any good.

Only a good read if you want to pass the time really... it has a few good laughs, but you have to appreciate the artwork to appreciate the manga.

well this manga really isn't all that appealing in my opinion. There is a really weak plot (almost non existent). Looser perverted biology teacher gets all the girls without any effort. (at least in other harem mangas the protagonist actually does something to win the affection of someone). The only purpose of this manga seems to be the ecchiness. The art is the only commendable aspect of this manga. I give it a 5.

A nicely packaged romance manga series with plenty of hentai/adult stuff in between. It is very much in the same vein as manga series like Toshiue no Hito and Haru yo Koi.

It's a pity that YAnime has closed shop. Here is to hoping that someone else will pick it up and finish the series.

All in all, it's a fair series.

I was expecting to be dumb but I was surprise by the cute love story. And since it's from mangata U-Jin the art is excellent! I haven't finished the series but so far this manga is a good choice.
