It's definitely a manga about Yankees (RECOMMENDED!)

I stumbled into this manga coz I'm a fairy tail fan. Yoshikawa sensei was once mashima sensei's (fairytail) assistant (hence, the slight art similarity)... Yoshikawa seems to be too girly (in my own opinion when I saw one pic of her) BUT this manga she made is definitely pure blood SHOUNEN. And it's not your typical generic shounen, but an awesome one!
And she gave justice with the title she gave in this series coz its really full of Yankees . Both main protagonist and main supporting characters are Yankees (though Chiba isn't but he is mistaken as one due to his scary glaring eyes).. Even the so thought to be nerds were once Yankees (except for the computer club)...

I agree with the previous comment that there are two phases in this manga. First one is the randomness of the plot(coz it's a comedy manga). And the second one is where the randomness pauses a bit . Then it focuses on the real story with a lil bit of a slice of life (but I disagree that the comedy is sacrificed coz all chapters makes me laugh). And it is kinda near to my heart coz it slightly touches about being e shut in ( almost a hikikomori. I'm almost becoming one not until I go back to school this June ) and how they helped those neets to go out to the real world....

AND I unexpectedly like the humor. I really get to laugh at it. It's not really forced, but really a natural one...
Soooo check it out....

Art: 10/10 (better than fairy tail. Sorry mashima sensei. I'm ur big fan but I honestly think yoshikawa's drawing is better)

Plot : 8.5 (random plot here and there coz its a comedy manga. there are slight inconsistency. But only rare and it is not bothering the story)

Humor: 10 (it's soo natural)

Recommend ? : DEFINITELY a MUST READ!

...one last thing! ( I know my comment is long)... The chapter titles are very interesting!
So come on read it now biggrin
Last last last one! The live action series is kinda disappointing. This one SHOULD be an ANIMATION and NOT a live action...hhmmff

This manga seems to have two phases if I remember correctly. There's the first phase in which the mangaka doesn't seem to care about anything else than getting a laugh. It was really funny for me but it would depend on your taste and/or how many manga like this one that you've seen. Then there's the second phase in which the mangaka sacrifices some of the series' comedy to get a decent story going. Over-all I would put this series at slightly above average. It's not going to rock your socks but it's a nice way to pass time.

The spineless and false "yankee" main character pisses and moans about not wanting to do something or not liking something but caves in and does what the "megane" wants him to do.
Repeat that ad nauseam with no plot and some okay humor and you have this in a nutshell. No joke. Eventually the spineless main character becomes the sap you expect to be and ends up liking being dragged in crap and that is the only development so far, which is so sad it speaks for itself.

Some nice high school manga.
Being a fan of deliquents in general, made this one even more enjoyable.
The only downside of this manga are the last 2 volumes. In short, the ending just sucks.
I expected better and was gravely disappointed. Well, up to vol 20/21 it's a good read and I can recommend it.

What a story... Starting reading, you don't really know where the author will lead you, but little by little each chapter brings more and more surprises, entertainment, suspense, laugh and all. It goes through almost every themes you can find in school life mangas, but with a really different point of view than most of them.

Every characters are well introduced and have to overcome their own difficulties with the help of the others, and everybody gets stronger in the end. You can't help loving them all ^^

As you can see in my lists I've read many mangas, and I swear this one is a rare pearl !

The live action drama is also pretty good (although I usually don't really like dramas).

One of the funniest, most endearing and entertaining series for quite some time. Not your typical delinquent-themed stories. The story is very polished and satisfying. The art is quite good with solid lines and tones.

Almost of the characters are funny and lovable with a few exceptions. All the main characters are great. The drawn out romantic subplot is slightly annoying and starts to pick up later in the series. The action is interspersed without being drawn out and resolves quickly, in my opinion, which is a plus.

One of my new all-time favorites. A must-read.

Honestly, I loved it. It is hilarious, addicting, and great art. The story isn't too confusing and you will easily love the characters. This is a must-read series. The updates on scans aren't that bad either so you won't really need to wait 516548651 weeks to see what happens biggrin this is rekindling my passion for it so I think I will re-read it right now (:

My impressions so far are.... this series is slightly slapstick and running upon an unconventional female lead who doesn't take center stage every chapter after the intro. In fact, as the story branches off to embrace other characters, the female lead kinda recedes into the background while the male lead takes dominance. They're both opportunely smart and dense.

Basically, this series is just for fun. so enjoy it as it is.

This manga is relatively easy to start and is enjoyable to read. Although there isn't much of a plot, there's enough comedy that it doesn't turn stale. First, there's Shinagawa, who for all his delinquent might, is incapable of ridding himself of Adachi and there's Adachi, who's naivete provides most if not all the comedy of this manga. Honestly, this is the type of manga which should have been licensed worldwide already and be more popular than it is but sadly isn't.
