I can't stop. It's so much, the mystery, the folklores, the ambiguous two worlds, and the characters with their underlying roles and intentions. Up to where I am right now (chapter 20), this is a whole different level of masterful story-telling: thrilling, accelerating, all the while suspenseful and slowly paced, slowly burned at best.
I saw this at least a couple of times and dropped because of the "horror" tag. I can confirm it is not traditional horror of blood, gores, and twisted images up till now (chapter 20) for sure. It's the mingling thoughts, questions, and feelings that are what unsettle.
I'll definitely follow this. I haven't felt excited on a series for a long while and hope that this will continue to go/flow/do well. I'm absolutely hooked! My interest is absolutely perked.
There's another work from the wonderful author-san called "A Wonder Boy", anyone who'd enjoy this should check out too. Maybe check that out first to see if you like her styles of story-telling. I mean both are very different, even the captivating arts are done somewhat differently to set the tones for each story too.
I'mma update some more maybe in the next few years. Enjoy the work 🙂

Up to the last chapter I've read (10), the story's pace has been quite fast, though the world is unveiled rather slowly. This is an intriguing world, where we can't yet distinguish between the human actions and some kind of transcendency (magic? gods? virtual-world?). People die when they reach 50, but why? Those masked men seem to play some sort of background role in this. The society is very feudal, with few communications between the villages and the "burg". The mood is never too heavy nor too light.
I really like this manga up to now, but I'm afraid such a good start will guide nowhere, like so many manga. From my reading the last chapters, I suspect the mangaka has no long-term plan for his story. And the growing place taken by the know-it-all bishônen is worrying.
[Edit, up to chapter 12]
Unfortunately, now that the author has finished setting up this world, the lack of a story is blatant. There are 4 or 5 parallel threads, and many flashbacks. Sometimes I feel their main purpose is to buy some time until the author builds up a global direction for her story. What a pity!
