For starters, the lead girl is strong. And by strong I do not mean going around beating up people to prove her physical strength or something like that. Her personality is was got me to read further. Only 13 chapters, but I expect much from this series because in those 13 chapters, its convinced me that this is different.
For starters, the heroine with a persona which makes her stand out. She's not diplomatic nor does she beat around the bush. Maria tells everyone straight off the reality of the situation without worrying about her own image. She intrigues me more than anyone else...would love to see more!
Then there's Shin. Ah, he struck a chord with me and I really like him *insert fangirl squeal here*. Yuusuke on the other hand seems like a very one dimensional guy at first but later is shown to be much more deeper than his appearances.
The bully scenes (hate that Ayu girl with veangence!!) with the class were harsh and I was glad to see that Tomoko moved over from her shallow buddies to Maria .
Recommend this to all for this is an amazing series. Waiting for more!

this is a very nice change from the average shoujo. very refreshing, and i like it very much. it's not demonized or anything of the sort. even when everyone is against her, it still works because you always find narrow minded people that are just assholes. i love how she pinpoints people's personalitites and intentions. that is GREATLY refreshing.

I read this before when there were just 2 chapters, I got impatient for the next release so I dropped it and never really got to read it when the third chapter was released. I was thinking of picking it up again but there were some comments about it being unrealistic and how everyone was so "devil-ized". I hesitated but did read it again and wow, I am surprised. I loved it and think it really is good. I love how the characters are dissected (in a good way), how Maria analyzes everyone, it just seems so true. The setting of the story, japanese high school, might not actually fit the characters in a way that high school kids can't be that bad or mature or whatever but it reflects real life in its own amazing way and I can really relate to that. There's character development, laughter and romance in it that I really really like.

Well, this is a totally different shoujo manga. The heroine is not the typical crybaby, quite the opposite in fact. Maria is an honest person, she always says what she's thinking and doesn't have tact whatsoever. Basically, she does not put the mask everyone else in society wears so as to live "comfortable", so whenever she tells people the reasons for their actions, they feel as if she actually sees through them and they get irritated.
As for the love triangle..well, not much to say. For now, that's not the main focus of the story and I hope it'll stay like that. The two boys have much more to their personalities than what we can see on the surface, so I expect a really good character development.
I truly recommend this manga to whoever wants a "different" shoujo.

Before I would have given this a 9 or maybe even a 10. But the recent developments disappointed me. The mangaka seems so bent on making everyone evil. I could understand the girls, but the boys also? That's a bit too hard to believe for me.

Enough said.

The only thing that bothers me is that people would consider her the devil. I wouldn't be surprised if this were the case in real life as well. That pisses me off. Freedom of expression is just lacking these days.

Anyways, this manga is great.

WOW. That's all I have to say. Well, not really.
The plot is very deep, such as the thing about Maria. She's not a devil, people just see her as one because she is so beautiful, but she speaks her mind, and can see everyone's hearts (kinda...) I like how Maria "is a mirror that makes others see their bad sides". It's a wonderful story, and very different from other stories.

there are already 50 comments on the manga, but I've just got to say that I love this manga, its kickass heroine, and its complex situations. Like others have said, you can't predict what Maria will say next or what will happen next. The other kids and the teacher gang up on Maria not only because she stands out, but because she can look at a person and see the darkest parts of their souls. She can see through the slightest hypocrisy and point it out. People hate her because they fear her for knowing something they refuse to recognize about themselves.

And I love the other two guy characters. One is mysterious and the other, though he comes off as your typical nice guy, you learn that he is a very layered person. The manga is also pretty funny as Maria attempts to have a lovely personality.

I really love the main character. I haven't ran into one like her yet (if anyone has please recommend the manga). I can't wait for the next chapters to see how everything turns out.

i love the main character..she really speaks her mind and stands out.
she can stand up to the bullies. the other 2 guy characters are pretty unique and opposites which really got me even more interested to find out who she'll end up with
what was a really dissapointment was the teacher. i mean what kind of teacher does that too a student no matter how bad the student is? that part was just very unrealistic

overall it was pretty good
