From Airship:
Seventeen-year-old Hajime Nagumo is your average, everyday otaku. However, his simple life of pulling all-nighters and sleeping in school is suddenly turned upside down when he, along with the rest of his class, is summoned to a fantasy world.
While the rest of his class are blessed with godlike powers and tasked with saving the human race from extinction, Hajime’s job, a Synergist, only has a single transmutation skill. Will he be able to survive in this dangerous world of monsters and demons with nothing but a glorified blacksmith’s level of strength?

Too many overused character types.

Too many overused character types for me to be able to take the story seriously. The airheaded somehow popular girl, side characters that are douche bags for no reason whatsoever, and it gets even more irritating from there.

I can say i enjoy reading it. Although it won't be as fine written like a published book since this is a web-novel.
There is many flaws, yet if you can bear it and continue, this novel is good for time killer.

This novel aren't for people who look for in depth characterization/complex plot or originality.
There's many cliches in it, but cliche doesn't mean the story can't be enjoyable.

From Mundane to Better

I ain't gonna lie the start felt a bit dry with the MC and story being a bit reused from similar situations in other manga's and novels but that changed as further on the story picks up as the MC's attitude and situation change giving the novel a more refreshing take on this kind of fantasy gaming world genre it won't be for everyone but is a much more interesting read after a volume or 2

Stick with it, it worth it

I was actually ready to give up after the first few chapters. It seemed like your typical spirited away, other world BS with the MC was your typical pathetic nice guy. The transformation he goes through was what made the following chapters worth reading. Given what he was put through and the philological aspect the MCs evolution from the sweet caring door matt to don't screw with me or I'll kill you type character wasn't such a leap as other commenters made it out to be. Yes it was a week to strong type story but it was explained why. While I have hope for the future of this story I just hope they don't revert the MC back into the Good Guy and just keep him as the Anti-hero type. His personality in that form makes for a much more enjoyable read.

A lot of cliches but good

First off it has a LOT of cliched themes. But it's not a bad thing. It actually brings them together in a pretty good way.

But it could go without all the girls falling for him.

Actually not as bad as others make it out to be

First off, those who think that the novel's illogical, it's a FANTASY novel, not slice of life shoujo or something like that. The harem element isn't as large as other novels but that's ok. The character develops in quite an interesting way.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The character gets betrayed by one of his classmates who has a yandere-like crush on the girl who has a crush on the main character. This leads to him almost dieing and having a distrust in other people as well as obtaining a crazy strong will to live.
Altogether the main character's development is kinda believable considering what he went through.

would give it a 9 for the first arc

but then we have to agree that the second arc is one of the most redundant sheets you will have the misfortune of reading in your life. I endured the whole thing convincing myself it would get better, it did not. We will have to see if the third arc lives up to expectations (judging by the discussions on animesuki it does but only time will tell) i would give the 2nd arc a 5/10 and average it at 7/10. There is a need for an extremely strong antagonist to appear to match our very overpowered main character soon or it might get a bit lonely in the story.

Read this on recommendation. It was a bad recommendation

Reads as if written by a child. Possibily because it was written by a child.
Cliches abound.
Bad pacing. (e.g. They accept going to war almost instantly. After a few weeks (?) they go off to a dungeon/labyrinth...wut)
Some cool ideas with generally shitty execution from poor writing and pacing.
The author seems to want to portray this other world as if it were a game, but that doesn't make sense.
All the people transported to the other world are asked to commit genocide and no one speaks out against this. The main character doesn't say anything, though he realises they're being manipulated. Either the others are complete idiots, have no qualms about genocide or have some reason to not speak out, like fear (?). But there is no indication any of the others have thought about this, except possibly the 'mysterious big bad'.

Anyways, not worth my time to give this comment more structure.

Would not recommend.

GREAT READ

Well, its like a Chuunibyou, but thats what makes it feel good. The protagonist starts weak as newborn but after extremely painful, tragic, and survival kill or be killed situation. He overcomes things by pure will. When he was in middle school he did an amazing thing for some people, that thing is something that you must have an iron will, and a courage beyond normal people. I also really like how his personality changed but did not break after all he went through. And since i have read lots of fantasy settings and the like, this novel has a classic feel, so its nice

Calm Before the Storm

This series started off great, and I think it has potential to grow, however Shia is really annoying and after he comes out of the first dungeon there is nothing that is really going on. However, if the author plans it right Hajime's encounter with his former classmates will be really nice and after Hajime clears the second dungeon the story looks like it is going to pick up. I definitely will follow this book.
