I liked it. It was entertaining. However, there is a long build-up with a sudden quick ending. I also wish the romance would of been a little more visible. It was more of an implied romance. Also, everything seemed to come so easy for the main character without much of a struggle. Nonetheless, the series is a great way to kill and evening.

This is one of the classic works of manga. It's not perfect, it feels a bit quick, but there are reasons why it is considered a classic masterpiece. An unyielding lead character that truly brings people and dreams together, this is her story. And what an adventure!

Recommended for all manga lovers out there, don't miss out on this gem.

I really felt in love with this one. After years of reading manga, I finally started to look more into the classics and I deeply regret I didn't do it sooner. Although maybe then I wouldn't like it so much.
Just like other people said, this manga is more about stage plays and achieving one's dream, than love but frankly, I think that's exactly why the love story is so amazing. It shows how one can't postpone love, even if life is very busy, and how people fall in real love. I mean, in reality you don't follow your sempai till he dates you and so on. You usually figure out that you simply cannot be with the person that you're always with or admire. I think love actually speaks through every chapter of this manga, we just don't concentrate on this so much and that's what is so good about this love story.
Throughout the manga, you keep cheering them on with every new job, new difficulties, get amazed just as them with plays and movies. This is my first time reading this mangaka book and I'm truly astonished how knowledgeable she is about stage dramas and how many ideas she has on them. he didn't do just one story, there were so many plays and movies that she described that I still can't shake off the admiration. This one truly deserves 10/10, I wouldn't change anything in this. Even the dialogues sound so realistic, because they don't show all of the characters feelings. Especially the chief and Misora relationship. They didn't need to say a word about it for readers to understand what's going on. I am truly amazed. Need to check other mangas by this author.

I don't usually look at the ratings when I read mangas so I don't really know what to expect with this one. I read the description and it didn't really catch my attention so I was really caught off guar when I read the manga. I have a really soft spot towards characters who are incredibly passionate and actually good at what they're doing. It wasn't the annoying passionate feel but more like you will cheer with the main chara. I highly recommend this

This manga was sooooooooooooooooooooo good, never let me down. From the beginning till the end was so good and ending was so good too. Love the story and characters, art is not great but it's good, but it's plot is so good that make a lot better than those manga which has a great art but a crappy story. love it so much.

Well I am reading 40th chapter but I didn't find it very convincing... I am not going to trash it too much since it is not too bad of a plot. However heroine in this manga starts to get on my nerves a little. I am into mangas with josei genre because usually they aren't saucy like shoujos on the terms of love but this is too much.


but again for some reason I couldn't gave it less than 7

I love this series, but I thought it ended abruptly. Structurally, I can see how the ending was not really abrupt at all, there was a long buildup and many resolutions ... But I felt like The emotional tone was gearing up for another arc and I wanted to see how everyone would develop going forward.

..but my review will most likely mirror the majority.

This was one of the best stories I have read so far by a mangaka of this genre. It is simplistic, yet awe-inspiring enough that it makes you want to reread it once you've completed the series (trust me, I reread this countless times).

I would like to point out to those who have been severely disappointed by the romance in this series that this is a romantic josei manga. Personally, I see josei as a genre that reflects more on maturation of character first then love life second. It isn't like shoujo where mangakas enshrine love and place a large emphasis on it when concocting a plotline. Josei focuses on growth on a more inherent level - it's more focused on self-identity, self-love and it's supposed to be more reflective of reality.

This manga embodies most (if not all) of these elements to make it a great story. It is about a girl called Yuu who tries to identify herself through her love of theatre and the stage. It's a journey of self-growth, where she discovers who she is and what she's great at, therefore leading to her uncovering her talent. The story focuses on her manifesting this talent to make a name for herself in the world of theatre - it isn't about petty love rivalries nor does it opine superficial values such as physical appearance. Many mangas tend to have characters who have this internal monologue with themselves about how ugly they are which generally leads to them having a major physical transformation. It's such an overused plotline!

My overall rating for this manga is: 9.8 out of 10
Plotline: 10 (pretty damn original if I do say so myself. Most often you find the protagonist pursuing an acting job in stories like this.. Yuu does early in the series, but she changes her preference fast to grow another talent)
Characters: 10 (Touya shows that he is distinctly human [even snapping at Yuu sometimes]; the directness and honesty of Yuu makes her so endearing.. even people who supposedly take on an antagonistic role are loveable because they are flawed)
Aesthetic appeal: 9 (I am probably biased as I am sure there are plenty more mangas with infinitely better drawings than this. However, I find that using such a simple art style allowed us to focus on the story instead of being constantly distracted by the drawings so it suited this manga perfectly)
Personal enjoyment: 10

I haven't read something this good in a while.
It's amazing to see Yuu develop and grow into a confident woman with ambitions and dreams but at the same time with her feet on the ground. From the very first time you see this honest, impressionable girl who is not afraid of much and is willing to fight for her dream. And the story moves along so effortlessly that by the time i took a break i realized that she was already doing perfectly and it didn't surprise me one bit.
The characters are really good, especially Yuu, the plot very interesting altough it needed a little bit more depth, my only problem in terms of structure is the pace, especially considering the romantic plot.
Also the plot is so optimistic that even when she fails, and she fails plenty of times, it doesn't seem like she's failing, don't know if that's a positive or a negative to be honest.
My two major complaints relate to the ending. First of all the romance is, well, rather random for the lack of a better word, and it should have been better developed, and then secondly i wanted this story to last more, it could have used at least 15-25 more chapters easily. This has got to be a first for me to say in a Josei, but yeah i wanted more. The ending just felt a bit rushed.
Overall i highly recommend it.

If you are extremely interested in theatre and enjoy stories that focus on the growing maturity of a character's passion for his or her career, then this is the story for you!

If you're interested in the growth of a character's passion and love for a partner and their perceptions of love, then... turn back!

I'm no fan of insta-love, but these characters sometimes seemed asexual. There was zero sexual tension. I often marveled at how career driven these people were... which was extremely enjoyable--it was lovely to see people with passionate interests! And the teases and promises of interpersonal romantic relationships were there as well. It was all very fascinating... for the first three volumes. By volume four and straight on into six, I was skimming. The career focus never let up.
