Reasons to like or hate this (trying to be fair)

Ok after reading the comments it didn't seem like something I would like. However after reading the the translated chapters I found it to be different from all the bad comments here. Now that I have said that I will try to give a fair evaluation of the WN.

Here are some of the reasons that it might not be for you.
First off this has a harem, if you don't like stories with harem's then you won't like this (the title even says so). Next would be that this is a reincarnation story so if you don't like that or hate it as some have commented do then this not for you. The main character does have memories from his past life so his mental age is greater that his physical age (since he is reincarnated this should be a given) and so far the girls around him are around his physical age no where near his mental age, if you don't like this concept then you might not like this.

Here are some reasons why you might like this.
The MC is not OP, if anything he is average. He makes up for this with his knowledge from his previous life. So far
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
he has not shown that he is controlled by his lust and thinks of the future of his childhood friend.
He was an otaku but also had I real job.

These are just some of the reasons to like or hate this web novel. Honestly it seems that only the one's that hate it have commented on it. The characters are not super deep but are made so that this comes off as a light read. If I have one major complaint it is that the author goes into too much detail with the guns.

Hope this helps

So far so good

I read chapters up to 26. I was expecting it to be worse based on the comments here (and the character design), but it turned out to be decent enough. Truth to be told I was very reluctant to pick the series up because of the cover art (I dare say I don't like the character design).

It's another of the tensei web novels, so it's very similar to Mushoku Tensei. Mushoku Tensei is better than this one in most aspects (plot character and whatnot), but this one is still enjoyable (and MC isn't as much creepy pervert as Rudeus). In some ways this series is similar to generic harem LN, but the romance still appears to be more developed and ecchi less explicit.

This series has few twists of it's own. MC has no cheat abilities, so he starts developing guns to make up for that. However I have one issue with it. MC solves too many obstacles in the gun development using one magical substance (magic liquid metal). It makes sense that MC makes the gun parts out of it, but it's far too convenient to be able to make ammo using it too (rounds are made from 4 or more substances in real life and each one has different properties). It would feel less cheap if the MC had to make ammo the old fashioned way.

If you liked tensei novels or/and are gun otaku, you might enjoy this series.

Edit: The first few volumes were part of a bigger story, but I lost all interest after the elf arc.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
MC collecting wives didn't seem appealing for some reason.

I really dunno how to rate it (lots of spoiler)

I'll break down from beginning till recent chapters.

Standard reincarnation type story. You either get a loser or an awesome guy just dying and recincarnating, simple. The "twist" is that this MC watched a fellow bullied classmate suffer and die. Sure, okay.

Next he reincarnated and it was pretty slow. I don't mind it but each chapter was basically 0-1 years. Two random chapters were basically repeats of the female girl's perspective. It wasn't entirely pointless but it added very little. There's also cool yet poorly executed parts about guns. It's literally like wikipedia. The author needed to spice it up, somehow.

Point being, MC spent 10 years making two handguns and one rifle. Slow but cool, not that bad. Then he became an adventurer. This is the part where the author should've learned from The Walking Dead. Those who mess with Rick (MC) gets killed, lol. I totally loved how he got tricked. But he should've gotten away somehow. And then some stuff happened about being a blood slave or something. I mean, it's all over the place to make a harem.

I know people will say, if you don't like harems, don't read them. Well, it didn't start off as a harem. A nice sweet girl to look forward to is nice. Not a harem, but I suspected, just hoped it wasn't as focused on the harem part. Like more on the gun and stuff.

Characters are also...not amazingly well developed but I don't mind. Light/web japanese novels usually don't have characters super developed. It's usually really short and vague, like Shieldbro.

It has a pretty good concept but it just strayed away and became a harem or something like that. A better plot would be while transporting, somehow he broke away and killed all three of the slave dealers. And he continued on his gun harem, not harem. Like not trusting people and doing solo work. Then make more guns, farm his own metal slime, I don't know. Stuff that's not just a perv.

... it got full in-depth into guns descriptions, and forgot to put some soul into characters. Not my kind of things, even if I love reincarnation stories, I don't feel like reading wikipedia articles about new guns every chapters.

Average reincarnation story
by TheIro

As some commentators pointed out, the novel was pretty good in the beginning but later the quality dribbles off. It seems the writing becomes dumber as if the author didn't put as much effort into it. Like the cringe-worthy Rifleman's creed, or the awful decisions of the characters, or some of the more unbelievable plot points. The fairly good initial character development of the love interests also level off as they get sidelined into one-dimensional sidekicks later on.

Been a fantasy novel about guns, I suspect it was suppose to appeal to military otakus what with its overuse of military acronyms and info dumps on various guns. However while the author might of done their research initially, as you progress through the vols he starts getting the facts and physics of various modern weapons mixed up. These things are not really even needed for the plot, but you know, if you're going to be spending so much time info dumping, you should at least get it right. Nothing is more silly than having some person confidently stating bs as facts.

Aside from the cringe-worthy stuff, there are some fairly entertaining moments here and there. So this novel is not a bad read if you turn off your brain and have some time to kill, just know that there are better reincarnation novels out there.

The Same but Different

-Even though there has been a lot of new novels with the reincarnation fantasy world setting this one as some details that are different from the rest.
-Many protagonist will be born/learn strong magic or be strong in swordsmanship but the main protagonist is here is average in those aspects however his knowledge from the previous life gives him a unique edge.
- The major detail of bring or invent modern technology into a fantasy world as always make things more interesting of a read in my preference.
- So far a incredible read and is worth the time

Read ahead up to chapter 50 and I can finally make a Review. Long story short without spoilers, its a weak version of the other reincarnation stories. The writer is actually very bad in his storytelling. Best comparison would be a bad fanfic based on the reincarnation theme? There is a heavy hand whenever the plot moves, alot of deux machina moments are seen. As Trejon wrote, chap 1-19 is a decent but volume 2 and 3+ are very bad.

Really good with drama!

Well, so far with all the information that has been given to us with the 4 currently translated chapters is that, a former bullied dude gets resurrected after getting owned by the past bully in a fantasy world with beastman people and such. But the sad part is that he got NO talent in the new MAGIC DOMINATED world, were basically if you got low magic you are TRASH. And this is exactly what happens to our "OP Protagonist To Be". Then he learns that METAL SLIME(reference to dragon quest) have the particualar drop of metal liquid that based on mental image can create metal related works. And our "OP Protagonist To Be" Is a gun otaku... In this world where magic is the law we got our protagonist that mostlikely will become a gunsmith and a gunfighter.

Seriously whats wrong with other people
Its good not heavy nor light.. The mc is well balance not your typical OP Mc.
Although I can't see the harem part but still that's ok.
The twist was interesting it one of those I didn't see that coming and when it arrive it has impact.
I agree that the GUN part is rather annoying the story doesn't really need that if possible can it be erase it ruining the story as a whole.
Still since his a gun otaku it can't be help but then again for crying out loud stop wasting pages just explaining gun history and how to create one.
As the story goes deeper I want to guess that the gun part well be destroyed seriously I hope the Gun won't be mentioned again is really useless.
If it was a magic GUN with unusual effect then I have no complain.
But to make real guns in a fantasy base world theres a limit in how it should be presented.
Still its one of my looking forward to read in the future.

Dry read.

The writing is very dry, and some of it repeats from chapter to chapter. 'I did this, then I did this, then I did this, then I went here'. Very much 'lists of things I did.' It's rather difficult to get invested in any of the characters because the writing is dry. Nothing is described other than some of the gun the MC happens to make, and two side characters. Not much world building even though history class was the perfect opportunity. The idea of the story is ok, but the execution feels like a high school drop out gun otaku decided to write a story.
