DMG: (New translation!)
Suitani never wanted a normal life, but that’s what he has. And he loathes it. When he runs into Tamaki again, the small boy he bullied in the past and now a gorgeous television hero, he realizes Tamaki is everything he is not. But Tamaki hasn’t forgiven Suitani’s past cruelties, and suddenly, “normal” is a lifeline.
Unusual reflections on love continue in AWAKENED DREAMER, some filled with beautiful sadness, others with imaginative humor: a fatherless boy clings to something entirely his own for a few short hours; the son of a master mahjong player leads ... More...

Mistakes in Translation

This manga was very enjoyable, but once you get to chapter 3, please skip the translated version in favor of the raws. I read the raws and the scanlated versions interchangeably and felt like I was reading two different stories at some parts. The raws make it much more clear about certain feelings that were developing (subconsciously) earlier on, which were made intentionally subtle by the mangaka to draw out the feeling of "characters in denial". Even in the end, it wasn't a hit-you-in-the-face clear romance, since they clearly had emotional trauma to work out, but that was suitable for this kind of subject matter. Raws are highly recommended!

The story started off so well; the pace was even and the art was attractive. But Mizutani's sudden revelations of his feelings later on put it off balance, leaving one feeling confused as to what exactly happened, and why (I would think it was the translator's/proofreader's fault for this misunderstanding, but I'm doubtful).
However, this manga is far from being 'just another cliche yaoi title'. So far, a great read that is hardly forgettable.
