I think I would have enjoyed it more if they'd focused on just the one lady. I've read some of the author's other stories and they have a very slice of life, slow/dreamy pace. It's hard to really settle into that when it's three characters. May as well have just made is one shots on a single theme. The interconnectedness aspect was distracting to me, tbh.

wasn’t what i was looking for (really wanted a josei romance) but this doesn’t have that, very purposefully. it’s about exploring actual working women’s concerns in lives. loved how unique, poetic, and uplifting it was.

I've been reading a lot of her older works and it follows the theme of working women and their thoughts wrt marriage. The writing goes into how each character is coping with society's pressure to conform at a certain age and their final choices. Art is lovely and ornate with each panel taking on a dreamlike quality for each scene. It's rare to see older MC so I look forward to each of her new works.
