After being cornered, a path opens up.

Ever since he was little, he's been carrying the weight of the name "Eight". Through the power of "8", he is drawn to his classmate, Hatta Tomoya, nicknamed "Hachi".

Exchanging greetings and small talk, his daily exchanges with Hachi begin to build up. With this, it begins to instill change in Eighto. Before labeling this as friendship, if you were to give this feeling a name, it would be...

Nagisa Furuya is my favorite BL artist. Her mangas are always 10/10 for me.

Just another story about best friends falling in love with each other? I wouldn't say so. Why? Because the main characters actually are not best friends. And that'a the plus of this manga. We're watching two boys getting to know each other from the start. When the manga starts, they know nothing about each other. They are just typical high school boys. No loners, no popular guys. Just two normal boys. And that's definitely a plus.
The way their relationship progress is so natural and realistic. There is no jumping into the feeling since the chapter one. It's a process. That's how getting into a relationship should look like but in most of the mangas it doesn't.
Another huge plus for secondary characters. I mean, main characters friends. Funny, supportive, I just love them so much.

I would recommend it to people looking for short slow burn with easy to like characters. Must-read for every and each fluff lover.

i love how the characters are constructed in this story. i identified a lot with hachi since he loves eighto for all the dumb shit he does and holes he digs himself into. eighto is a taciturn character but gets easily flustered and annoyed, which just makes one want to mess with him more. you really can't blame his friends, who are all dorks and very funny lol.

my favorite is still when eighto did something so smooth and suave at the end...and then blushed like crazy and couldn't hold it together. lmao. that's so endearing. i need someone like that in my life.

This is such a soothing manga. Slow paced and sweet. It feels very refreshing to read a romantic tale that falls into place like this one. The characters are both really easy going, and the way they end up together is actually quite realistic. The side characters with it as well make this manga worth it. Eighto's friend gives the manga a slight spizzazz. It's really the little things within the plot that make this sp sweet in the end. If you're after something calming definitely give this a read.

First off: I adore the art, very nice and clean, though the mangaka could perhaps think about differentiating her characters visually a tad more in the future.

Storywise: The story is quite a regular one, however, it is always the execution that decides whether a traditional/cliché storyline will go to waste or be actually good. This one definitely shows the latter. The story is nicely told and I got involved in it quickly. I can recommend this one.

The main couple and all the side-characters are very lovable. The flow of the story & the exchange of dialogues between characters are easy to follow. There was conflict but not uber heavy, it made the story heart-wrenching then heart-warming at the end. The artstyle is easy on the eyes.
It's a very nice read for new bl fans, or for serious bl fans who want something refreshing.

Nothing extraordinary by any means, this manga is like a short breather that anyone could enjoy with its calm slice-of-life atmosphere and likeable characters. There's nothing to the story, so the interaction between the characters is the main driving force to the progression of the 'plot'. I would say the writing style is really similar to Ichikawa Kei-sensei, so I know a lot of people will definitely like this.

Despite this manga sounding incredibly cliche, it's definitely worth checking out if you love lighthearted BL stories. The characters were so simple, yet captivating at the same time. They are not your stereotypical type of BL characters and actually display realistic personalities. The development of their relationship stayed at a nice pace throughout the entire manga and it was a sweet read altogether. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're being wrapped in a blanket and the art is very clean. I love the art style. I would recommend this manga to people who are just starting out with reading BL because it's super light and focuses on the development of friendship to love.
