Review from 2016 of vol. 2/spoilers

[This is just me rambling, sorry.

I get that Japan isn't very progressive about trans and homosexuality (compared to other countries) but the subconscious transphobia in this hurt. While acknowledging that Eve was born a boy biologically but is actually a girl, they still called her 'he' after the others found out. Unless it was the translation. I do wish I had the raws to confirm this.

As a polyamorous person, I really liked them all living with each other and helping out with the household, and reaching out to Eve's family.

But giving your lover a handjob under the kotatsu while your little girl is across from you and notices and is so uncomfortable she has to leave? WTF. And then fucking instead of putting her to bed, and she walks in on you, instead of communicating the need for sex outside of a bed and planning ahead. I just...I'm squicked tbh.

I did like the manga and found most of the couples entertaining but the true value of this manga is in the kids and the father-son relationships. The characters are nothing new and the relationships are pretty typical so as long as you are in the need for a quick read and don't have high expectations, it's enjoyable.

I do question the need for a second volume though. It came off kind of redundant and I didn't care for the third couple. We have a single father who is okay with dating anyone, just as long as they're good with kids and a teacher who has serious attitude issues. As much as the father's concern was appropriate, it made him seem too loose and carefree and the teacher was annoying. He has some abandonment issues so when he sees that a parent makes a mistake, he automatically assumes they're horrible parents. Which is a horrible predesposition to have when you are a kindergarten/preschool teacher. Sometimes, kids are gonna be kids and do things that surprise parents.

I agree the couples were repetitive but they all had different personalities and started things differently.

i thought it was a sweet, cute story its ok if ur just starting to read yaoi and if ur bored are want to tone down a bit its not deep so its good for just a relaxin story and dont want to get to deep in story.

so yh i thought it was ok

the story was really lame and plain. a lukewarm love leaving you with a feeling of confusion in your heart. passion already doesn't exist here. just a bunch of guys meet, chase after each other for a while and then go to bed. although I have read Yaoi stories with weak plot lines before but this one was one of the worst. I don't recommend it to any one, this is just wasting your time. *shrugs*

this tells the story of three different couples but really it's the same couple 3 times- one guy is a host and a single parent, the other guy is a kindergarten teacher, they meet, sex and co-parenting ensues. There are variations in the stories but really it's pretty much the same and not even that interesting the first time it's told. Some plot devices are totally unrealistic and lame (kindergarten overnight sleepover? really?) and the characters aren't very interesting. The artwork in the first volume is pretty weak but gets better in the second volume. I say pass on this, unless you really like stories with children and young fathers and things of that nature.
