Disappointed

I was excited for the release of this tankobon after reading the first chapter on Si Mitsuru's twitter account and actually bought it the week it was released.

Based on the free first chapter, it seemed like the story would be a cute and fluffy one and I bought it thinking it would be just that. Unfortunately, this story, and the second one too, sadly warrants a trigger warning for rape.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I was honestly shocked by the rape scene in the main story, especially since the seme was such a nice guy and really in love with the uke. I did not see that coming at all and it was kinda graphic too. Although the seme did show a lot of remorse for his crime and he apologised so many times for it, it was still kinda disturbing how easily the uke forgave him. But then, I guess that just shows how much they love each other.

As for the second story... Damn, I really didn't like it. It was gross. The stalker really forced himself on the uke and the ending kinda made me go like, no, man. Just because you feel real shitty about yourself, you shouldn't even consider accepting the rapist who claims to love you so much.

As for the main story's plot, it was okay. Nothing complicated and nothing to rave about. The couple was kinda cute, especially the seme, if you ignore the rape scene.

In the second story, the seme was given a really bright and optimistic personality but he is also really selfish and pushy (as expected of a stalker). There was something dark about the uke, though only touched upon very lightly and that was something I appreciated. But to me, this story was basically filled with harassment so don't read it if you hate that kind of story.

Overall, I think my money was better off spent elsewhere. I probably wouldn't have been as disappointed if I had not gone into it expecting a fluffy story with no sexual assault.

Also, the stories in this tankobon are actually a compilation of Si Mitsuru's debut commercial works, which was published before her debut comic Mujikaku Love Factor . I honestly don't know what's the difference between the two types but that's what she said in the afterword. Anyway, since it was her debut work, the quality of the stories were kinda understandable so 🤷🏻
