Need continuation, it's just an appetizer

I forgot when the last time read this, and still thinking this need continuation,

i re-read my old file and found this unpolished gems
this manga like an appetizer before main menu, or in anime, just arc 1
the setup for story is solid, the past revealed but not explained

then boom, it's ending

I think if the author make it to some continuation either in Light novel or just manga, this would turn great

While browsing in my idle time the endless lists of manga released for an interesting one to read I managed get wind of this short manga... and I'm so disappointed that it was discontinued, the premise was unique (for a harem yes, it is unique) and the setting had SO MUCH potential to exploit a proper story that could rival any other. My spirit as an avid reader and eternally in search of brilliant reading material is sad.

If you want to enjoy one of the really few harem ecchi's (I hate this combination, generally they're bad stories for idiots) that is really good (even with it's flaws) then read this manga and... feel sad with me u.u.

An interesting premise marred by messy storytelling

The premise of Shina Dark is really interesting and has a lot of potential. At its core is a story about a misunderstood demon lord and abandoned women who try to establish their own nation amidst a backdrop of warring superpowers who are all scared to death of said demon lord. This series isn't so much about the demon lord Exoda as much as it is about the women who are attempting to stand again after being cast away for the (supposed) welfare of their homelands.

Unfortunately, the story is incomplete. It manages to setup the backstory of Gallett and Christina and their respective homelands, Vansable and Estgloria, quite well, however the impact of these two nations on Shina Dark is never explored in this series. The series also ends in sort of a cliffhanger. It seems Nakayama-sensei intended this to be done in multiple series, but if and when he actually plans to continue is still unknown.

... But what is truly disappointing about this series is the messy storytelling. Aside from sudden shifts in tone and momentum-killing filler arcs, the use and organization of the panels is very inefficient and confusing. This can be seen in both action and regular exposition scenes, and unfortunately it does not improve as the manga progresses. I can't help but think that this manga could have been a much different (and memorable) story had another artist been in charge.

One of my Favorites!

This series is a hidden gem. It's written by the same author as Mahoromatic and I think this one is better. The story's better, the artwork is better, the tension is better...I could go on and on!

The only reason I could see readers giving it anything less than a 10 is because it ends after the first arc and the second arc hasn't been started by the author. To me, it's such an interesting, compelling story that it doesn't matter.

To sum up: I can't believe this hasn't been adapted to an anime. I've read it twice and I love it.

Liked this one

I liked this one. Though there are some strange RPG-like stuff in there, but this is just a fiction so it does no harm if there a bit of that stuff. And it is really something new, I haven't seen anything like that before.

I'm really looking forward to continuation in Chapter 2.

Not quite right...

This manga brought about some very mixed reactions. I liked it but hated it at the same time. The problem is that different elements of the manga clash.

On one hand, it has childish humor and cartoonish artwork which creates a lighthearted atmosphere. On the other hand, the story focuses on very mature themes like independence, gluttony, ambition, the definition of good and evil, etc. The two just don't mix. I enjoyed reading about the difficult challenges the characters faced. I hated the constant and pointless filler comedy that made the manga seem like it's targeted at 5-year olds.

There's definitely potential in the mature story and themes. However, the execution, in terms of artwork and comedy, is just terrible. Maybe the author is trying to appeal to a large age group, but this manga could use some more refinement.

i started reading it for the demon king himself, but it seems he's a minor character in his own show. i couldn't sympathize with the two lead girls, mainly because i found them boring. the world drama is somewhat interesting, and you kinda want to see it play out. and just when it was getting good, the series is "complete." so now i have to wait for season 2.

Needs a proper ending

Funny, slightly ecchi and certainly not a very common story premise. If you're just in it for a few quick laughs and some (very slight) drama, then Shina Dark will prove to be an entertaining series. Still, I'm hoping that the second part of the series gets released soon - the "cliffhanger" they left off with doesn't need an urgent resolution (heck, it came out of the blue), but a story needs closure, ya know?

Not focused on romance but quite good

Quite good, if your looking for romance it doesnt happen for awhile, i don't think its even appropriate to label it a "Harem" well yes it is a harem but it happens at the end of the arc if your looking for a manga with semi-rich storyline you should read this, 8/10 in story, 6/10 in romance (So far, knowing the story did not end yet) 8.5/10 character development.

Edit: Please stop rating it low because it is not focused on romance even though its harem, look at the tags theres NO tags for romance if your reading a comedy manga and rate it low because there weren't any horror involved its your fault is it not? well you get my point.
