Description

Good storytelling, but not my favorite story

This is a well-written manga, but I simply couldn't get fully invested in any of the characters, especially the main couple. This also contains a couple of BL tropes I find particularly annoying, like "I'm not gay but it's okay if it's you," and "consent isn't required if we like each other." Plus the story is largely built on a lack of communication. It just doesn't fit my interests.

Still, I read 8 volumes of it, because it's good quality, and I'm desperate for content. I'll probably reread someday! It's not actually bad or anything.

It's so dmn funny

Can't count how many times I burst out laughing reading this manga. I have to say that the main plot is rather slow, though. But it's super funny so I really enjoyed reading this. I was a little irked by the seme for saying "You looked like you wanted it" to the uke. I mean...really?? I feel like the side couples in this series (like the dad and the aniki) would have healthier relationships than the main and I hope to see more from them.

As of 1-26-20, only the first 25 chapters are scanlated. After reading all of them, I desperately hope someone continues to do future chapters. The previous scanlators are no longer active.

If you like yamamotos other work then you will love this one too I'm sure. The characters are every bit as likeable as the honto yajuu cast, perhaps even more so.

Yamamoto Kotetsuko is known for her use of cliche troupe to conveniently place the main characters together. This one is no different. Although I'm glad that no parents has to die in this series, the premise of the story is very much like every other manga she has created. Not to say that it's bad but I would very much like her to create something knew.

Mostly enjoyable, but there are faults

Whoa. So right as I was fuming about the overused seme-being-a-womanizer archetype needing to end already, the main calls him out on it. Rightly so. I hate how BL tends to romanticize abusive behavior.

Then there's this quote from Kirara in Ch6 p.11: "He's always unapproachable, makes you uncomfortable, and says horrible things. Why do I even like him?" The most relatable thing ever. The correct answer is that this is pure lust and raging hormones. You don't like him and don't need to date him. Just f-cking him is a-okay.

Hate that Oomeada was made into a molester. You can't have a gay couple (the father's) you are attempting to portray positively while also using this homophobic stereotype. This character should have been someone Kirara dated while Ken did his shitty thing. I can't stand that Kirara is doing the most for a man who treats him like shit.

The premise is SUPER INTERESTING so far! Cliche, but...

Character designs are nice so far too. Characters aren't as lovable as Honto Yajuu's yet, but.. we'll see! This has a lot of promise.

P.S. I'm always Doritos for pining.
P.P.S. The MC is so pretty I wanna stab the wall with a fork and eat it.

Update: Still uber cute! <3 But yeah, this story feels quite rushed, haha... But I'm very impatient for the next updates. Pleaaase.

The beginning seemed a bit rushed as Yamamoto seemed to be pushing Kirara's back story through as fast as possible, like in Bokura no Negai. It calmed down quickly, though, and isn't too hard to follow. There's a hint of a love triangle, but how it plays out is still a little uncertain as it is pretty early on (though a bit predictable so far). The main character is definitely cutesy, but not so much as other ukes that Yamamoto has drawn, so it's more realistic. The second chapter definitely introduces one of the main issues, and I'm eager to see what will happen in chapter three.

The art is on par with Yamamoto's usual work, the storyline is similar to her other BLs, and the scanlation is very well done so it is easy and enjoyable to read.
