2nd & 3rd stories

These two are the gems of this series.
The 2nd story is my favorite. This is a very simple and very touching story. It's so rare to see a simple love like this in shoujo manga nowadays. This kind of story are my favorite, because this is where you can relate the most to the characters since they're normal people in a normal environnement. I think it's a story a bit different from what sensei usually write, but maybe that's just what makes it even better. Anyway, it's really sweet, I'll remember this one for a long time.
The 3rd story was cracking funny, the romance here is quite a second element but it doesn't matter since the story is so funny. I was laughing all the time. And I think I've seen here one of the most hilarious reply I've ever read (something about falling cherry blossoms... you'll know when you read).

reading this i was expecting some pretty kick ass lead characters because i mean look at the cover it just gets you pumped. you all like yeah that girls gotta kickass. well she dident kick as much ass as i would have liked but she certainly wasn't weak. i enjoyed all of these they where very cute. the art works good as well. ive become a fan of MOTOMI Kyousuke she has written a lot of shoujos that i have read recently and loved. he lead characters are always admirable and such.

Not quite perfect

Hmm as per, manga by Motomi Kyousuke have really good and often amusing art. The characters are never too winey (females that is) - I like the tough characters she makes. And the plots are always unique.
This manga I enjoyed like most of her other manga but I didn't feel those butterflies you get when you read a really moving romance. The romance wasn't very poignant and unlike some of her other manga, the humour wasn't very strong either.
I didn't really enjoy the first story, it had no spark. The second story I thought was quite nice and the third story was ok but very obvious from the start.
So not her best, but still entertaining and worth the read.

A Great Compilation

I love Kyousuke Motomi's stories. They're all so full of humor and heart-warming romance that I wish all shoujo could be this good. "Youth Survival" is a good one-shot, though it's my least favorite of the three compiled here. "Liar Love Letters" is a brilliant one-shot. I loved the characters, loved the plot and loved the twists and turns the story takes. Also, the pure emotion presented in the story was truly touching. "Sword and Heart" is a more action-based story, but with all the heart and plot of the other stories here. Definitely a good read! I also absolutely loved the extra here. "Otokomae! Beads Club" is one of my favorite short mangas... and I loved seeing the characters revisited again here. Overall, this is a great volume! Just make sure you read "Otokomae! Beads Club" before you read the extra, so you'll know what's going on wink
