Description
Tsubaki is a girl who loves making her younger sister's hair pretty every morning, but she doesn't think that kind of style suits herself! The day of her High School Beginning Ceremony, after she failed in being the top student (who usually makes the ceremony speech), she finds herself sitting next to the actual top student of the first years, the worst rude guy ever, Kyouta. This series has gotten me to fall in love with manga all over once again.

OMG the art is all i have to say .. i will love this manga just becuz those 2 color pages were there ... im sad cuz she's really cute and she doesn't see it wich is sooo like grls in our age.. they r all "im so ugly, ur so pretty"

I guess I shouldn't have expected much from this manga, even if it has a high rating. It's not the kind of manga I usually like to read anyway. Still, I was disappointed. I see nothing admirable or even sympathetic in Tsubaki. I would not call her spunky, and certainly not strong (Tohru, whatever her faults, is much stronger in comparison). Tsubaki's weakness, inexperience, and her easily embarrassed nature aren't necessarily bad, but the contrast between Tsubaki and Kyouta ("cool," "mature," popular, self-possessed) is irritating. More annoying is the fact that Tsubaki so readily gives in to Kyouta and softens toward him, although he treats her terribly. If there is originality or charm in this series, I don't see it.
That said, although this manga didn't agree with me, I obviously don't speak for everyone. So, to those who like the kind of plot and relationship described in the summary, sorry for the rant and enjoy the series.

Well, I have to disagree with the other rating Kyou Koi has gotten. Sure, the summary may sound a little cliche and maybe the hero and heroine are a little typical, but it's a bit difficult to make everything original. Besides, it's the way the author tells the story that makes every manga unique, no matter how cliche the plot is. I think Kanan-sensei does it quite well.The art's not shabby, the plot agreeable, and the characters adorable.
Need I say more? It's the perfect shoujo to cozy down with if you like a little drama and some humor mixed in between.

The best part is when she cuts his hair. Tsubaki is spunky, and I kind of like that because she's different from the other stupid, old-fashioned girls. *cough*Honda Tohru*cough* Not that I have anything against her.^^
very very typical shoujo.. nothing new, interesting, surprising, or unique at all. but it's good if you like that sort of stuff.
