Description

Lin Xiaoyou, childhood friend of Xi Yu, died at the age of 14, but her spirit refused to pass onto the afterlife. Instead, she stuck around and became Yu's "guardian angel" due to a promise she made to him. Under Xiaoyou's constant guarding, Yu hasn't had a single girlfriend even though he's already 24. Being in a proper relationship has become his goal in life, but such a simple wish brings about a series of terrifying incidents. Is Xiaoyou really a "guardian angel", or is she actually an "evil spirit"?!

I enjoyed the story but felt it could have been just a good a story without him.
It was so painful until chapter 17 or 18 where it makes you aware that yes the author is aware of how bad the male lead is.
Even the thought of feeling a little sad for him fell out the window because

The art is good and the writing is not bad at all. Before I began this series keep in mind I only expect the ghost girl to be annoying but along the way I ended feeling more sympathetic towards her then the male lead. You want to understand the male lead but then all sorts of questions raised in my head.

The real reason she was stuck hanging by him for ten years is that he realized for along time he couldn't accept her death since they were 14. But the irritating part is that he always complained her ruining his dating life when in reality he forgot to confess his feelings for her along with accepting that she died. Thankfully she forgave him instead of becoming a "wicked spirit".
Now don't get me wrong we all make mistakes and dumb decision sometimes but there are other reasons I feel this way. Whenever he got hurt or his "girlfriend" was supposedly attacked (who ended up using to get to Mattie.) He blamed Mattie for it despite thinking she not evil enough to do these things out of jealous. Even when he wants to gets her excorcised he changes his mind each time despite all his complaining like he can't make up his mind. It gets bad to the point where Yuki is just the perfect girl (the fake girlfriend) in his own deluded head. Will avoided all logic, despite the clear red flags. Like it literally took three days for them to go on a date and this was after watching her (Yuki) being sexually assaulted right in front of him twice. If you're interested in somebody it would be considerate to think maybe it's not the right thing ask them out after seeing what she went through. The only reason she got with him is that she had Mattie in mind.
It took the antagonist (later revealed to be) to put his thoughts in the right direction. Like he could made the decision to trick the male lead completely but realized the ML thinks of the worse things possible without him having to try.
The fake girlfriend doesn't end up with the male lead, in fact no one does. He just waits for Mattie's reincarnation who turns out to be a small school child. He cries after seeing her one last time which is probably the most humane thing he did for her.

Why did it take this long for her to get excorcised wasn't she already annoying him by the time he reached highschool?
Did the male lead really hang out with anybody else? I mean it was revealed he knew people but what about after Mattie's death?
I ask this because it's as if he has no understanding of people socially?
It wouldn't take until I'm a grown (24 year old) adult to realize she's driving me crazy. If anything I would make it my second if not first priority to make sure she could depart peacefully.

This is basically about a childhood girl who died but promised to become the main character's "guardian angel" when she dies. She does die and clings to the MC as a ghost or spirit. Years past and the mc is annoyed by this childhood friend's overprotectiveness; the ghost girl chases the mc's potential gf because she loves him but the mc is too dense to realize it. However, the mc wants a real life gf and not just being alone with the ghost girl.
That's how the story takes off but there's really no progress to the story, even up to chapter 28. All the mc thinks about is trying to land a real life gf but blames all the bad stuff happening to his childhood ghost friend and is even thinking of exorcising her (essentially killing her spirit). What an asshole thing to do.
Combined with a lackluster premise and an annoying main character, there's really nothing to look forward to this series. I have to admit, the art is good to look at but that's it.
