The entire franchise is finished at an impressive amount of 14 volumes all in all and this is its first entry.
I can confirm that the narrative isn´t the most realistic representation of the gaming industry as i have been a core gamer since the 90s and have multiple books on it but a misrepresentation it is not. The story has a strong shonen passion but i does fit the seinen demographic in the end and isn´t it nice to read about people who are long out of high school for once. The characters all fit certain tropes but are also very charming so i can´t complain.
There are further some interesting details about the japanese gaming scene to be found and the author clearly did his homework. The manga even managed to spawn 2 Jdramas so it was a success and it´s a shame that most of it never left japan as there is a big crossover audience between gamers and comic/manga readers after all.
Further recommendations about the gaming scene would be the more romance focuses 87 Clockers (8/10) and Indie Game: The Movie (9/10) which is an insightful real live story about the trial and tribulation of game development.
