In this work, Natsuki Takaya finally found a groove. Although her first work, Gen-ei Musoh, was certainly worth reading, you can certainly find many seedlings for her current style in this work as much as the last.
One major thing you may notice is the art; by this point, the style has moved away from the 90s style and has moved more towards the clean look that was in vogue during the early 00s. As the general tone of this work stays much more light-hearted than the previous one, the art reflects it: you find much more "cute" pictures to accompany the more comedic nature of this series.
Of course, although the series is not as heavy as the previous one, this work still pulls its own weight in terms of emotional depth. Even so, the "early-Takaya-style" is ever present here: don't expect the depression to feel as "smooth" as it does in her later works. After all, things are still more edgy at this point in her career, and the roughness manifests itself no only in her general style of art and storytelling, but is also "rough" in regards to her ability.

I have read and reread this series a countless number of times. I love it so much! Raimon is my favorite type of shoujo male lead. I love how he feels that his reason to live is Kotobuki. Awww. I only wish it was longer, but honestly, I'm very satisfied with the series.

Believe me, I didn't want to pick up this manga because of the comments saying that it is similar to Furuba etc etc. Sure the characters share some similar traits as the ones in Fruits Basket, but as you get into it, you start to forget about that and get absorbed in the story :] Just pick up the mange and read the first few chapters, I think it is romantic, cute, and funny :]

I actually didn't enjoy Tsubasa...maybe it's that I don't like the genious type, or maybe cus Raimon is unlikable...Kotobuki is alright, but I don't like Raimon's obsession w/ her.......
I've read and own all volumes, but it was an unsatisfying read....

I do enjoy this series - Takaya has a great way of mixing comedy, drama and romance - but at times the story reads like ADD: I keep thinking "how did this happen again?".
It's okay so far, but sometimes feels rushed. The artwork is pretty though, and hopefully it improves as it goes - it has great potential!

I haven't read Furuba yet, but if the characters are so similiar I'll surely give it a try! Again a mix of action and shoujo that makes just a great read. Pity no group seems to continue it...
This is a great manga. Many of the characters you can see that Takaya-ka used their personalities for many of those in Fruits Basket, but that doesn't ruin the manga at all. I think it gives a familiarity for Furuba fans that makes the manga superb.
I find this anime so funny and romantic at the same time.... I wish they actually made a show out of this show it'd rock!!!!!!!
