I will tell you this, all the things you read about how the MC is overly arrogant, or how there is slow or bad romance progress, or how MC is overly OP, it's all lies from people who havn't read the entire thing. This is a good read and totally worth a peek, and that is my unbiased opinion.

I've read the entire novel up to date (currently ch 446).
MC is only arrogant towards certain people because it's a strategy of his. It serves a purpose, which is one of the reasons why you'll probably grow to love this guy.

MC is also NOT OP, he possess vast knowledge about things that the people around him have never even heard of, this gives him a huge advantage over everyone else. But one slight mistake could cost him his life, he is constantly surrounded by foes that vastly surpass his powers and this story is about how he uses his knowledge to confront such foes and eventually surpass them.

Characters are NOT left behind as some people claim, all these characters serve a purpose and they serve it fully throughout the story thus far. If someone is seemingly "left behind" its only because they will sooner of later reappear to fullfill their part of the story. Bottom line is, everything regarding characters make sense.

Lastly, there is plenty of romance that will make you smile and feel giddery inside, it's true that Ni Lie has somewhat of an growing harem going on, but his heart belongs only to 1 person. He is just very protective of his friends and loved ones, people take this the wrong way. Ironically the author writes it very clearly so i dont even know how people can get it wrong...

Now you can choose to believe what the others are writing or you can choose to believe what i just wrote, it doesn't really matter since only you are the one missing out. I strongly recommend you give it a try with a open mind, chances are pretty good that you will get sucked in and stuck till the end.

Was good until Mad Snail decided to lie about why he's not updating the story anymore. The list of excuses is long but the fact is he got caught red handed writing another novel and refused to apologize for the lies. Now he's decided to fast forward the story and end it as soon as possible however he's STILL NOT UPDATING THE STORY. We get now an update once every month and it's half the length it was before. Meanwhile Star Martial God Technique is getting 1 to 2 chapters A DAY. The fact is Mad Snail is not going to give TDG the ending it deserves because he got bored of it. Mad Snail has done this before with his previous novel before coming to write TDG. He apologized then and said he wouldn't do it again, what a giant lie that was.

I recommend you do not read this story because it will not have a good ending. Just imagine is J.K. Rowling decided to make HP 6 and 7 into Cliff Notes. that's what Mad Snail doing right now.

This is the 1st time for a lot web Chinese web novel. This one really hook up. 1st. i read in manga online then web novel then totally wow myself i can't stop reading. I say this best recommended all wuxia lover. This one is the best. The MC really an awesome dude help his fellow classmate cultivation skill so all can help the hometown they love from destroy by monster or dark guild.

First off I just want to note that the story isn't for everyone, so I can understand why people would think it's a poor read additionally I will admit that there are a lot of things that could of been done better.

As for the reason I like this so much is that there is a very good story although some of the writing isn't good at times but the overall story is very interesting and draw you in. The author does not focus too much on character development as much as I would like but he does create an interesting world with a unique culture and has the main characters progress through this world so they aren't stunk in one setting. Many of the smaller conflicts in the story can come off simple but the main conflicts are a little more complex where one enemy would die and never come back where as another would last throughout the story.

if you like fantasy adventure stories with a capable and intelligent main character where the character starts off weak but progressively grows stronger using both his wits and strength to defeat his enemies as he travels a world full of mysteries than you'll love this.

Reading some of the comments, it seems Nie Li is not liked very much. One of the reasons for the hate is because he is too over-powered, which is false. In his well he is, but in his past life he was killed by stronger opponents, and went back in time to his 13 year-old self while retaining all his knowledge and experience from his older self (previous life). Nie Li was a frog that left the well, therefore he is stronger than most in Glory City. However, from the times that he has mentioned the Sage Emperor it can be inferred that defeating the Sage Emperor is one of his main goals. Also, Nie Lie is changing his current timeline, and has found the knowledge of other powerful enemies that he has not encountered. I am guessing once he completes his primary objective of saving his family and friends, and Glory City, and then reaching Legend Rank. Nie Li will venture across the Divine Continent and face-off against stronger opponents. Nie Li has mentioned before that there are stronger ranks than Legend rank.
I do agree on some of the comments that the author takes too much in describing the beauty of some of the girls.

after read many light novel, this is the best light novel i have ever read.
comedy,adventure,friendship,betrayal,romance,slice of life.
when you read it, you will never stop.
read this series, enjoy it.

This series started off well. It had a decent premise, the progression was good, and the pacing was decent. Then the story and the mc’s attitude and unbeatable nature came into play.
MC experiences a rebirth/rewind after living a good many years, while using a time space artifact that allowed him to study and learn everything under the sun in a period equivalent to 1000 years. He has all of the techniques, all of the knowledge, and this becomes part of the largest plot armor imaginable. In short, he is a Mary Sue (gary stu) of epic proportions.
That may or may not be to everyone’s taste, but the clincher for me is that for a person who has returned to the past with more knowledge than needed, he acts like a petty douche with a personality no better than a preteen. Whenever something occurs, it just adds on to the layer of plot armor that it makes the story drone on as the mc and the plot become more and more tiresome to read about.
It used to be a light hearted story with some humor, then it became utter drudgery.

This story is great. Especially the beginning where author goes into the tragedy of the past life, the apocalyptic end and the lover, friends and family lost to the claws of demon beasts. Then the monologue of the mc and his determination to change destiny, change the hands of fate. Aww man it was epic, brought a tear to my eye.

The story does come down abit from the godly awesome levels when the mc settles into mundane school life. However its still a great read. Characters are funny and interesting. Crazy shit still happens from time to time. The novel hasn't progressed much yet, but I really want to see what happens next!

The battle scene and camaraderie is great and the plot is going in a good direction.
Edit: I take back my comment.The MC is more likable and empathetic than i thought.The story isnt also about just killing, there is also forgiveness and respect.I think it is a good novel
