the story was really interesting. but sooooooo much shorter then it had to be, which was a real disappointment. the story was a little jumbled up at the beginning also, it started ahead then after went back to the beginning of the meeting, then instead of going back to were it was before, it just continued on from there. and the ending.... for those who have read it nothing needs to be said but simply it was a disappointment. i can clearly tell what happened with this story, first i was probably a oneshot that the anther didn't change really and just made it chapter one then continued, then was probably had to kinda force in all the details that were needed and that's why it probably why its a little jumbled up, then started to lose its popularity and had to quickly finish it up in a few chapters. well that's my theory.
but in the end i actually really liked it. the stories it self through out the series(you know like the actual cases and treatments and stuff) they were interesting.

It would have been nice if the artist had made the story longer... And there were parts that the artist should have had it happen earlier/parts the artist should have changed... But I think this series is overall a great one :3 And the artist actually thought when making this [in alot of series the artist and/or author goes on and on and on and on about boring and unorginal things that are EXTREMELY predictable -.-']. And the artist actually made a boring and tedious jod like a doctor and/or surgeon into an exciting series is already amazing. [no offence to people who like that stuff. That was entirely in my own opinon ^^'] biggrin But beware: This is not for people who are scared of blood and detailed pictures of people's organs. I almost threw up my breakfast when reading this XD

I give it a 5 out of 10 only because I didnt understand the ending and because it was left as a cliffhanger, sort of. Really disappointing at the end.

Its pretty good plot wise and stuff.art not that bad either......

But i guess as a critic....and someone who knows the stuff.....

The historical accuracy...was bad.......bullets and muskets.non existent at time let alone the tipped cylinder shape....women doctors

Anatomical and physiological accuracy....was way off ......sometimes

and cancer wasnt even known to exist.................

despite all the bad quirks here and there the story and character development was good enough make you give a good rating

I loved this series, loved the oneshot before it became a series. Great character development, great plot, it's different from other series in its category.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
But personally, I think that the story should at least have filled the Biblos up.

I just caught up with this one, and i've got to say that it really sparked my interest. my only real worry now is that it might get cut just like other new series in wsj. I don't think it'd appeal too much to the main shounen age group.

Anyway, the story seems to be developing nicely, though i'm kinda feeling that it's going a bit too fast for a wsj title. The drawings are good, especially the anatomical ones. Please let this manga continue.

Quickly got tiring

Putting aside the rather sketchy insight into modern surgery this still fails to capture. The comedy isn't really funny and the whole manga is pretty standard though it has some touching parts, the emotion, however, fails to resonate due to a lack of emotional investment in the characters. It has an interesting concept but it quickly becomes boring and there is very little character development going on or much in the way of plot. The art work is pretty good with good anatomical drawings of surgery and explanations that aren't too complicated. Points for good art and good idea but mostly this was a let down. The ending was rushed but that's understandable considering the series was cancelled. It didn't work at all though. You'd be doing yourself a favour by skipping this.

An enjoyable read. It's historical fiction set in the Middle Ages. The strength and influence of the Church, and medieval medicine are discussed in the series in a way that reminds you of a political commentary, but the story itself isn't removed from the personal level. There's a bit of drama and a bit of comedy, but what ties it all together is what I'd describe as a sentimental narrative. So yep, I'm glad I spent 15 minutes of my time on this.

@ yuri21: The doctor's face doesn't look like Light to me... It kind of reminds me of an Ishvalite from FMA, actually.

I guess this would be what modern medicine was like if it'd been transported back in time, into the middle ages. Though the methods used seemed a little too advanced for their time, it was still quite a sweet story in the end(apart from the standard shounen cliches and jokes).

Btw, is it just me or does the doctor look like Raito from Death Note?
