Dropped it.

So the first 6 volumes were decent, but the rest of them got progressively slower and more convoluted and well, simply boring. Dropping this series and its horrifically slow manga adaptation as of now despite keeping track of them for so many years.

Another novel with elitist Japanese ideals. At least he washed it down with some "western" philosophy. The author is at better read that the ones that inspired him, it's clear he did some research on stuff but it wouldn't have hurt him to mave mor historical aources and base the kingdons on them. Many things better explained than in the manga.

I would've preffered if it lent more on the seinen side... can't call thhis realist.

I can assure you this novel indeed has some aspect Realism viewpoint of international relation(and also another IR theory like middle power diplomacy and hegemony stability theory).

Though that all technological advancement that applied in the novel and naden-arc kinda 'forced'.

Read up to v.4 ish

Its a pretty decent story, the only problem is the lack of interesting characters to make it great

Quite light logistical/political/technological reincarnation fantasy

Soma is your typical bland protagonist, the calm and collected know-it-all kind, who turns around the technological and political progress of a backwards fantasy kingdom while inadvertently collecting a harem of some sort.

Lots of bullshit about politics and history and technology as per usual, though nothing egregious.

Very light in tone, though not quite comedic. Just... light and insubstantial. Relaxed.

Not bad for a reincarnation novel. Though the MC is (probably) ridiculously OP, that is not really displayed, because nothing of note really happens.
