this was a masterclass in storytelling from beginning to end. It helped that there were more chapters than a typical magazine manga release, but through the whole series I was never left wondering why a certain character would do something out of character. Why Maki is with Hanazawa, why they are so dependant and happy with each other, how Pyon is a manifestation of their care for each other, it all is explained and makes sense with the society they live in. The art is gorgeous and the recipes and food genuinely look delicious. Plus, they are a couple that have established boundaries and sex lives that explore each other's needs in healthy manners. They never blame the other for traumatic memories and never shift blame. It's such a refreshing read.

BUT IT'S SO GOOD!
Food themed manga always hit my soft spot. Cute, sweet, domestic BL manga with a dose of heartwrenching moment are my favourite too. Sooo Shiawase Gohan just....hit the spot really hard.
The art is super cute, you will love Hana and Maki in the first few chapters (that panel when Maki speaks Italian so far is my ultimate favourite lol). Moments where they cook their dishes together and living such a domestic love together alongside their loving bunny Pyon are so precious, and you will end up drooling for the food.
However, please prepare yourself for Maki and Hana's moment and problems with their own family. It will make you teary for a bit. I'm so pleasantly surprised knowing that this manga is still ongoing, I need to know how Hana and Maki met and fell in love, and what will they do for their future.
Please give this manga a chance if you want to read something cute and fluffy with some side deep moments.
