This had me cracking up in practically every chapter! I wished this had kept going, or had the time to really come to a conclusion, but since it got axed...the ending is SUUUUUPER disappointing OTL

It's really a quick mindless read though. There really isn't much character development, and what there is of it is so drawn out and faint that you don't really get a feel for it until you find out that the series has ended. Read all of it except for the last chapter.

One of running gag manga in jump, at firsts chapters the comedy was a light because it's full of character introductions. The more you read it, the funnier it gets and you'll hooked on to it.

The main hero's character might reminded you of Neuro, well, both of them are more like bad characters and both like to bully the heroine. The difference is that Neuro never fails while Samon, not only once, almost always fails in many attempts to challenge the heroine (and her friends). I also love his scum and trashy personality and how he can throw his principle for trivial matters (and his partner also as scum as f)

The heroine looked like a typical annoying good girl mary sue at first, but you'll know she is more interesting as you read the next chapters. So far, she is my fav jump's heroine after kagura and nami.

What starts off as an initially malicious move to torment a nice girl character has actually managed to turn into a fun, campy comedy. Although Teshi (an absolute angel) starts out as the butt of the joke, Numa Shun quickly switches gears, with equal opportunity for the rest of the cast to be disgraced. Samon himself has turned out to be a more entertaining character than I expected. While he certainly is fixated on causing mayhem everywhere (and picking on Teshi), he also has a number of quirks to make him (dare I say it?) almost... endearing. Also, the fact that Samon keeps losing to Teshi's pure goodness (even though he'll never admit to losing) is a plus.

And, surprisingly, despite the premise, the jokes are never too off-color or offensive. None of Samon's pranks are really that extreme. (His primary demon is one that induces hunger, for pete's sake!) And all the jokes are somehow more funny because of how absolutely innocuous they are. It really is just small pettiness on Samon's part rather than some grand evil scheme.

If you're looking for a fun, shounen comedy series, you can do a lot worse than Samon the Summoner. In fact, I'm actually hard-pressed to find many that are better. It's not high art, but every chapter definitely makes me laugh at least once.

(Samon also has the best expressions. Especially when he's being thwarted.)
