This manga is so cute and humorous and I love how the pace isn't so fast and how likeable the MC is. He's awkward and shy but his feelings are genuine and while he did like Hirose romantically, he also wanted to become his friend. I like how he didn't declare his love immediately like how most BL mangas I read, and is very considerate of Hirose's feelings imo too! The scene where he made a confession of wanting a platonic relationship first is just too good because I find that very RARE to read such thing somewhere. I wonder why this hasn't gotten any anime adaptation huhu this deserves an anime😭

Nakamura looks like a lot of other protagonists in Syundei works which doesn't really mean much, just a thought. Nakamura is a pure boy and Hirose is an even purer boy. There is a very colorful cast of side characters here, most of them EXTREMELY quirky, and that adds flavor to the manga. Nakamura is very awkward about his existing and that's perfectly valid. There's also a very candid moment at the end of the manga between Hirose and Nakamura and I can't wait to read Motto Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!

I have to agree with all the positive points, people have already written: the retro artstyle is amazing, the comedy is great and the overall feel is amazing. It's a unique manga that I am glad exists.

HOWEVER: I really don't appreciate the pupil/teacher shipping in this manga, even if it is played for laughs. This sadly only gets worse in the sequel, and then it starts feeling creepy. You can just FEEL that the author would ship an underage pupil with an adult man in any other circumstance, and they have done so in their other works. And I am just not ok with that, it is disgusting and feels borderline grooming/pedophilia. This is a subjective viewpoint of mine, please enjoy whatever you please.

I know that some people can just brush that off as "awww teacher crush so cute" and "that's just how BL is", but I can't, and I at least want to warn people about it before they run straight into it - because I wished someone had at least warned me about it.

I honestly dunno why I enjoyed this so much. Maybe it's the nostalgic art style? The characters are super cute too, and really hilarious. I thought it was going to be a parody BL, with no real romance, but Syundei sensei slotted in a really sweet and low-key emotional scene at the end which stole my heart. I'm rooting for you, Nakamura-kun!!

I mean, everything in this manga was such enjoyable, and I like all characters (males and females).

Unbelievably cute, funny, wholesome, and pure. It reminded me of what it was like to have my first real crush, with all the giddiness and confusion thrown in there. I enjoyed reading this so much!

Sorry, for not having anything constructive or insightful to say, but please JUST READ THIS (preferably by buying a copy). I have read this manga 8 times (and 9 times if you include this last time) from the beginning whenever a new chapter was released. I had no idea that the 11th chapter was the last chapter, and I had already read that two times hoping there would be more. You could say that I was in hopeful-denial. So, in total I have read this 3 times in its totality, and I don’t regret a single second of it.

What was originally just a small column to fill in space for its magazine turned into a full serialisation and I cannot be more thankful for that, because this manga is honestly just so awesome I don't even know where to begin. It takes a set of stereotypical characters and puts a comedic BL spin on it without ever belittling any of them or reducing them to the butts of jokes in a comedy manga. Both main characters are so cute and pure, it's hard not to like them or root for their relationship to progress. I also really like the art style; it's definitely more old-school and seinen-like, which is what makes it even more special in a modern BL setting like this. The fact that the manga itself is aware of its oddities despite its genre provides the basis for the humour to shine and that's what makes it so enjoyable.

Young Nakamura is where it's at. He's shy, adorable, and desperately, awkwardly in love with Hirose. His attempts to become friends with his cheerful and kind classmate are sweet and just a little heart-breaking.
The '90s influenced art style flows with charm; it reminds me of Rumiko Takahashi's work (Inuyasha).

This manga is GREAT! Honestly, it's so fun and sweet. I love the art - it's not a style you commonly see in BL, but it fits so well. The plot is also lovely and the characters are funny and endearing. I'd 100% recommend this!
