I need more chapter. Im so inlove with area no kishi story. Made me cry especially when kakeru realized about his brother and thier dream together. I cant stop watching the episode and i cant stop reading the manga. and now im still waiting for more episode/chapter.

I read to about 130 and some. And what it boils down to is a very bland eyeshield31 or prince of tennis. But at least these two made it look entertaining. The author forgot to make the story interesting, and doesn't explore anything except the game, but there's no trivia, no techniques, no embellishment of skills. I assume it was an attempt to make it close to realism, but by not really making any effort in that part, author successfully made a watered down shonen. Anyway, I don't exactly know what the author wanted for this series, but it's boring.

It's pretty average. After 100+ chapters what do we have so far? Phi trick, twisted doc, subtext love triangle(that we know will go nowhere), idiot teammate (still not funny), and the typical boring need-to-grow-some-balls MC. You know the cast should be changed, swap the useless male lead with or better the cute manager. The story would be more interesting, because so far, your MC is so amazed by what's surrounding him, that he should keep his role of cheering character all the way. Tournament, rivalry ...? Sir, not with that kind of fighting spirit. Every sidekick is more likeable than MC. The only way for him to succced or achieve his dreams is by luck or accident ...oh wait. The only moment, you feel anything when reading this manga, is in the first chapters drama. Excitation over sport, competition, rage to win? No here, no way ever. Or perhaps in 2000+ chapters. We will be bored to death until then. I give it 6 because of cute manager. The dissapointement after the promising early chapters explains my harsh words. It could have been better, but just a fad for me. A simple error in the cast, kills it all. Think about it : subtext love triangle between true hero brother, cute manager and twisted doctor, that'd be something, don't deny it.

I like it!! m at ch.122 n d only thing that bugs me, is the obsession with the "heart n its memory"
I would prefer if its kakeru's own talent n not some sci-fi stuff...
also, I'd like to c some growth in their playing abilities

Pros:
- more realistic than other sports manga
- female lead plays competitively and isn't an annoying sideshow. She's freaking awesome.
- awesome (or morally conflicting) backstory

Cons:
- The characters feel really flat to me, even after 100 chapters. I don't really get emotional in the "we need to win this!!!!" moments like I typically do in sports manga. Sadly, character hardships and development are what keep me into sports manga, so this was a big minus for me.

I started reading this manga because it lloked interesting, but:

I'll keep on reading for now, but if it dissapoints me once more I'm afraid I'll have to drop it...
But don't trust me, read for yourself... HAHAHAHA

I am surprised by how much i was taken in by this manga

This manga I fine really captivating to read but pisses me off at the same time. I like how they portray Kakeru who is talented but overshadowed by his brother and other events that take place before the start of the manga. Though I think that he should get that councilor fired for her actions.

This review comes right after i finished reading the 3rd volume of this manga. My irritation level grew with every page, until I can no longer take it and I had to vent

First, the classic I quit sports that can be found in every manga. Only in here I find it more annoying and childish. Let me just say that there are dozens of professional players that rely on their dominate leg only (for shooting), and are doing just fine the English/ Italian/Spanish Leagues.
Then we have the 'incident' that makes our MC grow some balls, which i will put in spoiler tags, though it is in the beginning chapters so not really a spoiler.


With that out of the way, I say : it's not a bad sports manga, I just couldn't handle it.
I'm just writing this review here to present a different front from all the positive reviews in here that led me to reading this manga.
