Ok, so this story is sweet and the smut was a little hot under the collar at times. However, I wouldn't call this the best smut/romance manga ever. mediocre, maybe at best.
Rumina showed alot of strength of character when running away form home for freedom at the beginning. However, I didn't understand the mangaka making her become so dependant on Allen to do everything for her and then portrayed her as useless on her own. Kinda found this disheartening as at the start she showed promise. Same goes for Allen too. At the beginning he was a handsome, dangerous, risky guy. But you kinda expect more as the story progresses. Though you did find out he is good with maths, drawing and applying make-up(?)
Some of the smut scenes felt force. Kind like the mangaka thought "Oh haven't had a hot smut scene in a while, lets squeeze one in here."
I don't know... I just felt like the whole manga was missing something that stopped it becoming deep and instead it became something crappy.
I don't mind cliched mangas as long as it has emotional impact. Although there was alot of love declarations, the story, characters and their love didn't draw me in at all.
Also drawings were a little off at times.

so stupid, useless, such a crybaby, a can't-do-anything-on-her-own piece of phlegm. she gets tutoring every single day, but can't even do her own school work, and needs others to help her with homework. can't get anywhere on her own, can't do her own hair, always gets into situations where she calls out for a guy. i seriously don't understand what guys see in her. USELESS USELESS USELESS!!! what an embarrassment to women. but then again, i haven't read many mangas that doesn't involve a doormat as the heroine and an all-knowing/all-doing knight in shining armor as her love interest. *shakes head*

Like most of Kayono's work.... This series was superbly drawn. Simply beautiful.
This series had an almost unbelievable hero... Hard to imagine someone being so good at everything but then, that's just me being envious =P
Loved how the story went - Had an above average storyline and some funny smut scenes. A nice blend of both. A very nice fluffy piece of smut to read!

Royal 17 is definitely Kayono's best, I think. Rumina is a likable heroine, and Allen is definitely a great knight in shining armor for her
I like their chemistry together and the plot is a clever one. The story is paced well, keeping you interested over all three volumes.
Yeah, it's a bit over-the-top. Rumina's a bit too rich and princess-y, Allen's just a bit too perfect... but I enjoy reading shoujo for its over-the-top fantasy, so I don't mind. And if you're a sucker for a good rescue scenario... This manga's for you! There's lots of damsel-in-distress scenes with triumphant rescues
And yes, there's smut. This is a Kayono work, so it's to be expected. But the smut isn't too extreme, just a bit raunchy. And hey, who doesn't like a little raunchy smut every so often?
At any rate, this is an enjoyable manga that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys white knights in shining armor or smutty melodrama. It's good at both
As for the extras: "Club Papillon" is a great one-shot that keeps the unresolved sexual tension building up throughout the entire thing. Definitely a good read! The "B-Men Kazoku" extras are really cute and it's great to revisit those characters. "Princess Paffy and the 40 Thieves" is another one of Kayono's "Arabian Nights" styled one-shots. I love how her art style fits the theme on these - and this one is another great addition to the set.

well, I dont think this Manga is pretty good since I got the feeling the Mangaka didnt have any plot in mind but drawing what comes in her mind. Somehow I also got the feeling that the concept of this series was originally just for one Manga and not for 4. The story is not "twisted", its just like I wrote with 14: "Oh, I wanna write this and that now!"
Basically, the main character always gets molested and changes her mind pretty soon (what a "nice" girl), her fiance is so not funny and the "cool guy" who will be her bf is kind of... I dont know how to put in words, but the character design is completely superficial, but it seems to be for all characters of the series.

This manga had me glued to the screen all the way through and the beauty of this manga was that it was not as frustrating as most other mangas. The reason being that there was not the usual wave of jealous girls who come to ruin the day (although there was a really annoying guy you knew he was always gonna fail) and the story was always very character/love development orientated rather than going off on one which can be really annoying. The ending was also good which is usually the down side of most mangas.
I definitely recommend this manga - 9/10.

that was quite possibly the worst, stupidest, unoriginalest, disgusting manga i have ever read. There is no plot. she basically gets molested the whole story (mangaka's attempt at trying to make a plot and grow a brain? possibly) and thats it. Oh. and theres an annoying rich finance she has whose a loser and is supposed to be funny? hmmm. Please excuse me while i go puke

I didn't read the genre and assumed from the cover and title (and synopsis) that this manga was just an ordinary shoujo. But... it's awful. If only it goes a little further (just 1mm further) and becomes a hentai I might give it a better comment. It has all the hentai characteristics but yet not there. Read 2 volumes cos I've downloaded them and didn't want to waste my precious bandwidth =P

not for me but maybe for you...

i just read 2 chapters of this manga and i was cringing or frowning for most of it ... the guy is good-looking and stuff but rumina .. urghh she really grates on my nerves ... they're whole relationship just bugs me (not that i've got very far of course) .. the art is pretty good and the whole thing might get better as it goes along since a lot of people like it .. but im gonna keep it on hold...
