Very slightly above average

I think this manga does not deserve the hate it gets. And while I think it's a very flawed series I think most of the criticism I hear about it sounds like it's from people who haven't actually read it.
I will start with my own analysis but I'll address some common criticism after that.
The moment-to-moment storytelling when you read it as-is, just the text and images ignoring subtext, is definitely above average for isekai, at least 7/10: The action is above average, the general character motivations are above average, the pacing is solid, the emotional investment in what characters are trying to accomplish is competently set up. The big 3 problems with the text I have are that there are too many characters and it feels like almost none of them get developed in a satisfying way; The worldbuilding regarding geopolitics and history of the world is boring as hell and gets too many pages; The worldbuilding regarding special powers (especially technology based superpowers) is either poorly explained or non-sense ( things like someone with knowledge and ability to create cars, submarines and modern drones can't make a helicopter for some unexplained reason or knowing how to make all sorts of crazy guns and snipers but shooting bullets which are basically glorified pieces of metal, not even basic WW2 style AP type ammunition despite lack of armor penetration being what the character describes as the biggest weakness of his guns) and the resources for these powers are a problem included in this too because sometimes they start fights not using their best weapons/powers but then other times they just bust out their strongest stuff even when it's clearly not needed.
The subtext is where this manga is just an absolute mess. It's generally crap but I'll tell you one I think is the funniest and just dismantles one of the central themes of the whole manga: Right at the end of volume 11 there's this whole speech that restates the central theme I'm paraphrasing but it's something like " rely only on yourselves to get what you want in life, not higher powers " AND THEN right after that, within the first 20 pages of volume 12 those same characters get their ass saved by an old friend who was just randomly somewhere halfway across the globe who tells them things like " our meeting here was pure luck, but enough coincidences may be called fate, me being here was all destiny, we will meet again when fate deems it". In a long enough story you'll get some friction with your themes but having " don't rely on higher powers" and "we'll meet again when fate deems it" within so few pages is just a hilarious mess.
As for points people make that rub me the wrong way:
"Too many harem members, at this rate there will be 50 harem members by chapter 200" - There are 4 harem members by chapter 70 so your math is quite a bit off there. And the rate of member acquisition has slowed down substantially too, I'd be surprised if there will be more than just 1 new harem member in the next 50 chapters.
People just hating on the fact the MC is "OP" - Power levels are relative: Sure he's "OP" compared to the characters he hang out with at the start of the story but the fights that get a lot of pages are serious ones where he can't just push his way through with just power, even fights where you could argue he sort of loses ( in the sense that he does not obtain the outcome he wanted from the fight). There are fights where he overpowers his opponents but those ones only last a few pages so they don't waste your time because the purpose of those scenes is to set up stuff for later.
By no means is this a great manga, I can't imagine recommending it to anybody unless they have some super specific interests in the stuff here, but at the end of the day it's clearly above average for manga in general and isekai in particular, don't hate on this just cause your favorite manga got axed while this one is still going.

Alot of the comments below nail it. It starts pretty decently but quickly becomes another trashy isekai harem series that forgets/ignores how it started putting it into mediocrity. What lowers it from a 5/10 though is the fact the series forgets/ignores established lore/rules cause reasons I guess.
The MC goes from "I'm gonna get my revenge" to "I don't care anymore" pretty early especially when he encounters his said betrayer which just blows my mind since it isn't like the usual betrayal stuff of "Kicked from party/guild" type nonesense it's the "I did a thing to get you killed with a 100% probability but you survived somehow". Really frustrating read and he's so OP at this point they may aswell just have the enemies die after being introduced.

It sells you an early story to get you interested, then swaps it out for a harem/op

Pros
- Had a good initial concept. Put a main character in a misunderstood/misguided job or class setting, and have him get betrayed because of his weird personality and lack of usefulness from a job perspective (and claim it to be jealousy somehow later, but lets ignore that for the moment). Force him to learn about his job/class, and use a life or death struggle to push him to development.
- Had a good initial supporting character who hinted at being strong. Build a method, however unrealistic it might have been, to save her, and then have that be a solid 1 2 punch to overcome some early hurdles.
Cons:
- Called said 2nd character a vampire, had her bite the MC 2 or 3 times, and then proceed to ignore it entirely and make it so real food is fine too.
- Added x amount of harem members after chapter 10. introduce them every 5th chapter for a while, and then every 3rd chapter, before being lucky to survive a chapter without a new one. Don't get me wrong, a harem or a second wife or something along that line isn't in and of itself a complete killer of a series, but pacing to have 50 of them by manga chapter 150-200 is way overboard, even for harem fans.
- Spend 2 or 3 chapters discussing the backstory of a entire species/race, and then proceed to ignore most of what was built in favor of just having the cute one of the bunch in the harem.
- Spend 2 or 3 chapters making a life or death struggle occur where the MC had to really push through and overcome adversity. Then it just spirals into an OP MC that has nothing much to overcome anymore.
In review, there were attributes of this that made it interesting, but it is not much more than a fan service read after a certain point, so go in with that assumption if you choose to read the novel after watching some of the anime or reading some of the manga. For me it just devolved too fast into something it didn't start out as, and it was a significant disappointment. If i want to read something or watch something, i want it to tell me that story in the first x amount of episodes chapters or volumes. What we got here was something that told us it was one thing and ended up another.

Ever wondered how a well established mythology started having strange tropes (ni mangas)?
Or why don't non powered up characters win against others that overly rely on abilities and numerical values that are almost randomly given?(via poison/stabbing their eyes...thing that would have sense against giant monsters)
Since when did the MC have to be OP or have an ability to do basic stuff?
Is harem really necessary?
Well you can thank this manga.(It was not the first but it pretty much consolidated most of the stuff)

This was one of my favourite series, but the harem completely ruined it for me. At first, the main character was someone I could cheer for; he struggled hard to survive and be strong. However, he turned stupid, surrounded by idiotic girls who are obsessed with him for reasons that I-as a woman-could not understand. I couldn’t enjoy the plot as a harem member was added every chapter. The story was ruined and I had to give it up. The author really messed up.

Another crap story where the MC turns his personality like a pancake after being betrayed and almost dying, let alone from coward to courageous, you don't turn from a good person to a guy that just kills any human because he gets in your way as if it was magic.
Other than that, we get yet another story about a guy (or a class in this case) whose life is ruined by the guys who summoned him and the reaction of the summoned is "even if I have no real reason to believe anything this guys are telling me, let's help them and risk dying since this people that destroyed our lives need help!", I'm tired of that lame setting.
Last, the MC getting stronger and getting more powers/skills is ok, but as soon as he started making cars, guns, drones and so on it became crap for me, yeah the author bluffed his way on how he made a gun without gunpowder by using rocks, after that he didn't even bother because he knew that there was no way to bluff the MC being able to create a car. Let alone a student doesn't know how to build one, he wouldn't have what's needed and he doesn't even explain what the fuel for it is. Really lame magical solution that I also find a pathetic example of the author's lack of imagination and storytelling abilities. This just a non-explanation type of tool that allows him to just pop whatever he wants out of nowhere without having to give any kind of plausible justification for it, and man he sure abuses of this trick.
Overall, a very childish manga with a glaring lack of storytelling and world building.

So as of right now I’ve read up through chapter 23 and although I may seem critical it is by no means bad.
So it is entertaining but you are often thrown off because the author skips much of the main character’s growth and some much needed exposition about the main’s skills and abilities. Often times out of nowhere the character will be using tactics, items and skills that almost seem to have been magically drawn out of a hat.
This seems to originate from the author being too focused on developing his overarching plot and thus neglecting the smaller parts that would really flesh out the story.
The best example of this would be that at one point the characters reach a point where normally a story would slow down a bit and go to a lower gear for a bit. During this a certain amount of exposition, character and plot development would happen together to give the story more depth. However instead the author decides to keep the story in 5th gear by doing a two month time skip and give the bare minimum amount of exposition necessary to keep the reader on track.
In short the story becomes shallow like a friend telling you the plot of a movie. Sure it’s entertaining and isn’t bad but it lacks depth, sometimes seem nonsensical and is highly dependent on keeping a certain flow going to be good.

Loved the way this manga was telling an original story, despite using many of the "summoned to another world" tropes. Now that they've forced a typical useless, happy go-lucky comic relief character (ch15) into the mix the quality and originality will probably suffer. A lot.

My only problem with this at the moment (ch.7) is the fact that they took him to a cave to fight, even though it was loudly proclaimed to all that he is only an artisan class. Where they proceeded to laugh and jeer at his mediocre stats. So of course they would automatically assume that he would get better stats if he went to fight stronger monsters with everyone else. Am I the only one who expected him to die after this stupid decision was made?
