It was pretty mediocre...mediocre, but really fun to read

MC is stubborn and rude to a ridiculous degree. Probably stemming from her days of being an international top thief, she has shaky morals, thinks she's intitled to anything she lays her eyes on, and has an uncomfortable love of revenge. ...But seriously, she's way too confident all the time. She never shows weakness, and she's always eager to fight. You'd think these are good qualities to have in a fighting manhua like this, but somehow, i find her to be really annoying. She's really OP. Too OP.

The author of the story tries to give her character depth in the novel, but to me, the attempts failed.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I've read 347 chapters (ish), and so far, the plot's been pretty bad. I've noticed that there's a pattern: MC goes outside at a random time, she finds out some super secret secret, then someone tries to beat MC up / kill her / try to take her money away etc, and then with the help of her only maid, Dongling, she is always able to escape it, and the plot against her fail. Some random person from Xiao family or the Royal Family is usually the culprit, they get beat / other punishment, and as always, this person gets away and swears vengence upon MC.

The opponents of MC are always really stupid. Especially her family, the Xiao Family. I don't want to go into detail, since that would be spoiling, but they are seriously ridiculously stupid.
Not only is this world, a cultivation world, really ruthless and materialistic, but MC doesn't exactly...do anything.
So her new body, Princess Huang Beiyue, was a poor soul who'd been bullied by members of Xiao Family for her shy nature and lack of talent. How does MC remedy this, you might ask. How does she fight back, and teach these guys, who hurt an innocent little girl to death, a lesson? By beating them up in various ways, and then exposing her many talents that she inherited from her former life. 😕 What does this prove? It proves the evil Xiao people right. They haven't, and won't, learn their lesson ever, because even if MC tortures them to death, they won't be like: "Oh snap, I shouldn't have bullied a little defenseless girl, that's messed up, I've suddenly learned my lesson!" No. They will be like: "Beiyue was surprisingly talented, but since I'm a rich spoiled kid who has never dealt with any sort of hardship before, getting beat by Beiyue is an insult to my name, and that's why I have to kill her even though she's a favored Princess..."...
Especially Xiao Yun (MC's half sister), Concubine Qin and Concubine Xue live way longer than you'd think...they are literally like cockroaches, always saying the same stuff about avenging themselves because they were wronged by Beiyue, but then Beiyue always knows their plan, and makes their pain worse.
Also, like 7 guys are after her...what's up with that😕
Oh, and the chapter where she's at school and Third Prince Jing's fiancee challenges MC to a duel...that arc was hilarious...
The writing was so bad. Like, the fiancee wasn't a good fighter, and she did try to cheat, but then MC turns around and controls the horse with her eyes, so the horse begins to throw off the fiancee and starts to violently stomp on the girl's body (i think she died, i dunno. You'd be surprised how many people MC kills nonchalantly...even her love interest, Prince Yi, straight up witnesses her killing someone in cold blood, and he's all like, 'Beiyue, You're so interesting'...nani

The author had amnosia in the middle of writing the story.(Not to be confused with amnesia).

The story starts off quite well, then just decent, until it took another step and forgot where to go.

The thing that disappoints me the most is when the most likeable character in the story died offscreen and the MC doesn't give the character a proper burial or even attempt to find the body to make sure that the character is saveable. It gets treated as a "it happens" moment and the MC just moves on with her life. That's pretty much the most frustrating thing ever and it wasn't even an emotional scene. Even though it happened offscreen, there is no good "oh this person was actually still alive" moment if the author does try to write it in because of the 5 year timeskip that happened just right after the death.

Also it doesn't make sense that the MC is stupidly strong even though she's in a "frail 12 year old body" even though she does have the abilities from her previous life. Her physical strength is on par with everyone else from the get go.

Time for me to additionally rant about the death in the spoiler
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
R.I.P. Dongling
She didn't deserve her death one bit, the author was building up her character to become strong and fight side by side with Yue. She was the Alfred to Yue being Batman. Yet she died like an unimportant side character. She was the most loyal and close person to Yue, yet Yue didn't really give a shit about her after she had died. Yeah she did care a bit when Dongling was alive but as soon as she was said to be dead not confirmed, Yue thought of it as "she lost her value" and moved on. I would be fine if Yue at least cried some bit or mourned for her even if she didn't look for the body because Dongling was faithful to Yue for her entire life and went through so many hardships against the Xiao family and put her life on the line for Yue just to be forgotten in the end.

It WAS a decent read, but...

It started off good, following those isekai-themed shoujo manhua/manga/manhwa about how this strong girl entered a world with her soul going into someone's body who was physically weak.

So many plot holes and questions here. I'm annoyed by how similar the artist drew the characters so that they're hard to differentiate. My main problem then comes, the main character herself is a MARY SUE.

I don't need to explain what Mary Sue is, but you can see that this character was made too special, no faults or whatsoever, then everybody's attention is drawn to her. It irks me that there is no character development as she was made to be 'really superior' to begin with. The later chapters were also a turn off following a boring plot and a mary sue main.

Shoujo manhuas really need to stop creating a Mary Sue-ish main character, it really destroys the whole plot.

A bit boring and unpleasant

This starts off well enough. An assassin from a magic version of the modern world (she uses a tamed beast before her re-incarnation and later clarifies she learned a version of alchemy and in a flashback you see her using magic there as well) gets re-incarnated in the now familiar "Cinderella" scenario. She's quite powerful and her enemies are somewhat cartoonishly evil. But its entertaining enough, there's a bit of mystery which keeps it interesting. But overall it does little to rise above similar stories it has very little to make it feel unique. I dropped it around chapter 75 when the main character sent her half-sister off to be gang raped by a bunch of mercenaries. Her sister deserved to be killed but the sexual violence was pretty creepy. As is a lot of the "romance" when your realise the main character is physically a thirteen year old girl.

Nice art but characters could use some improvement

Its the typical mc female gets transported and is OP, why not, its fun and easy to read before sleep as a fairy tale.
Short summary of PROS:
- very nice art, elaborate clothes, hairstyles, animals, spirits, houses. Its an eye-candy
- fantasy aspects make the story more interesting
- dumbed down visit into ancient-china-like place for those who enjoy it
Short summary of CONS:
- Cannot remember character names, they all sound alike and worst they all look alike.
- The plot is, well, very childish (sure why not in this genre) but needs some backstory, explaning and higher purpose (characters could use it too). As was said, MC is overpowered, not explaining anything so any encounter can end in *insert totally random OP solution to problem*
- Romance is absent, so if you are into it, go look elsewhere

I wish for all manhuas in this genre could be bit more elaborate on few things. Making characters more visualy different - would help giving people variety of hair color, lengt and eye color, moles/scars on face, idk, something. I doubt anyone non-chinese can remember or even read properly the names so its hard to keep track of those same looking nameless figures. Then all those manhuas could use less talking and snickering and bit more focus on improving characters, giving them purpose or drive.
For example this MC is helping her maid by brewing her some magic pills, so I would like to see her give them the maid, train her in martial arts (possibly with self-comments like "when I was learning this at age of XX it was much harder" ) so I could see some backstory + explanation of MC martial arts + progress in characters. MC themselves usually dont progress much besides beating everyone up, why not let her setup shop/training camp/obtain some new power. Simply gain influence besides beating everyone up.
Well much more could be improved with little touch here and there, though its what it is, just simple bed time story with nice art.

Enterteining thou manhuas like Shen Yi Di Nu or Peerless Alchemist are very similar and better imo.
Above all, it's quite naive and inconsistent, you wake up in an unknown place and the first thing that comes to your mind is "I'm in another world"? come on, put some effort in storytelling. Also, it doesn't matter how strong a person was before it just makes no sense that as soon as she reincarnates in a body that has been poisoned for years and has never lifted a muscle (not to mention a 12 year old girl), the first thing she does is pick someone bigger than her by the neck and send him flying docens of meters in the air... I can accept she has the skill or knowledge or even special abilities (if justified) but even martial skills are useless if the body can't keep up, needless to say, how could someone from our world (apparently) be a master beast tamer? or use illusions to change her appearance out of nowhere? what BS, she's just able to do pretty much anything right off the bat for no real reason, it's hard to believe the world she comes from has alchemy, magic, summoning and so on.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
their family torturing her and even killing her make no reason given the king is clearly backing her and not to mention how Lian Yi all of a sudden knows that the Bei Yue and Xi Tian are the same person with absolutely nothing ever happening in the manhua to give her identity up, it's like the manhua leaves parts of the complete story out of it

Still, for those that like an easy going revenge and retribution setting it can be quite satisfying so overall it's been a decent read so far.

Edit:After 150 or so chapters the story seems to loose it's way, at least, I started to loose interest, She changes her... situation and I'm not sure where it's going, maybe in 30-40 chapters it will get on course again but they often do when they get off rail.
