Devil or not, Latina is beyond adorable, and the adventurer soon finds himself head over heels with being a parent. Pretty Good

Very cute romance and interesting plot, but it slightly drags on at the end. Also, it's the only light novel I've read, but they had so much in-depth writing about the different environments/food/etc in the end when I just didn't care and wanted to read for the plot.

Something... Something that you couldn't see often

If you dislike something like Usagi Drop development then you could always drop it right now.

BUT, if you demand something like character development through age progression then you come to the right place. Because there is more than that.

This One Is a Bit Complex

UchiMusume is primarily a kind of slice-of-life story, with something of an underlying mystery in the form of the background of the female lead and the conflict with the demon lords. The story focuses on two things in particular: the growth of Latina and her relationship with Dale. With regard to the latter, from the beginning, they don't share a straight forward guardian-child relationship, and this becomes increasingly evident as Latina grows up.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Dale's behaviour quickly moves beyond doting, to a kind of distraction, as though he were trying to not realize that she is not his daughter, and this becomes stronger the more she matures. There's plenty of evidence that he avoids having anyone special (his reasons are given), so this element of trying to find anything to keep himself from loving her romantically as she matures is far from out of the blue. All of this is stated in the story, and his change in feelings is not exactly sudden when seen in context.
This definitely is not an Usagi Drop-like set up, nor is there incest (which is often forgotten about in the case of that example). Either way, the protagonists' relationship is complex, and Dale's decision to pick her up is not "lolicon" behaviour in the slightest (for one thing, he wasn't even sure of her sex, for another her situation wasn't the kind that a responsible adult could ignore, especially not one of Dale's personality; his choices are partially determined by the conditions of the area). The other character relationships are skilfully portrayed and few of the important characters are flat. The humour is of the charming will-make-one-smile type, while the writing is not excellent, it is definitely better than middling. The elements of the fantasy world are well integrated into the tale, are atypical takes on its tropes, and add to the story. The plot, while not exactly predictable, has plenty of foreshadowing, and the predictable things that do occur never occur in a predictable manner. Overall, UchiMusume is a charming story, not much depth, but it never pretends to be anything other than what it is. As a bit of light reading, I recommend it to those who enjoy interesting takes on fantasy worlds.

Just a boring lolicon guy

After playing "The last of us" and seeing how cool of Joel, I can not stomach this kind of manga anymore. The main character really is a freaking and boring lolicon, because he accepts to raising a little girl so easily. It's abnormal if you don't have hidden scheme. He don't bother to ask the other people to take care of her (his circumstance is not good enough to raise a child), and just enjoy how cute she is.
I also read Usagi Drop, Daikichi don't have any choice because everyone don't want to take care of Rin. Raising a child is not easily to accept if you don't have hidden scheme.
This novel is bad because it have too much fan service and the relationship is also forced.

If you really like adorable things or if you're kinda bored, I'd say it's worth it to try it.

It's really hard to describe this without spoiling anything. This story focuses on the interactions between the girl and her doting foster parent, the interactions between the girl and the people around her, and the girl's journey growing up. It's a decent read even if you aren't super into cute little girls doing cute things. It's pretty early on in the story, but I feel like character progression is going to be a big part of this; it kinda reminds me of Mushoku Tensei in that it starts kinda slow, and then starts to pick up a bit as the character grows.
