Yukari

I have often thought about the position in which the female characters (mother, sister, lover, wife, fiance, ex-girlfriend, lesbian, heterosexual, whatever) in yaoi/shounen ai. Well, usually there is no female character or even if they are there there characters can take multiple forms. One, it's the same as their not existing in the first place. Two, they can be the person who intentionally brings the male lovers together (like Yukari). Third, a bat-shit-crazy woman. Fourth, a blackmailing one. And the list can just go on and on.
My point is that when women are included and given a significant role to play in the story then that's what I focus on more than anything else (there are, of course, exceptions).
I am somewhat dissatisfied with Yukari's representation here. On the whole I like it; she is a strong woman and understands the situation. I also liked how she is not suddenly thrown out of the couple's life and keeps in touch. And it seems really unreasonable to expect this but I would have liked seeing some more space given to Yukari so that her character could be flushed out.

As for the manga; it was short and cute. The art isn't really my type but it's definitely what I would call moe.

Another nice story from this mangaka!!~
The manipulative uke was kinda refreshing~ the seme had luck to be engaged to a nice woman~ i liked how she ended up~ it would be nice if there was a one-shot about her, but i cant expect that froman BL mangaka right?? x)
Tho there were sad parts to this manga, there was some comedy, very nice sex and a good ending. The couple was adorable together~ <3 and i enjoyed the one-shot Lips too~

Pretty good one

There wasn't really anything special or original in the plot. It was the same as in manymany other yaoi mangas. But I still liked it. It was sweet and there were some smexy scenes wink What I liked the most though was actually the fiancee Yukari. Women are so often shown as "evil rivals" or something along the line in yaoi. This time the woman in queston was very sweet and kind and understanding not to mention smart. It felt very resfreshing to read smile

It's not perfect, but it's a good one!

My first thought when I started reading this was "this is very similar to Seven Days". But then it became really different, as this is more to the comedy side. It's not particularly original, but...it really got to me. I felt sick to my stomach when I realized they'd have to break up when the wedding day came. The way they have their moments and such is is somehow really cute and, to thinking this was a sweet story about how one month made them fall in love, this became something much more intense than that. There are twists to the story there's no way you'll be able to tell and suddenly I caught myself crying along the whole thing.
Even so, neither the uke nor the seme are my type. Tachibana's personality's different from his appearance, as he looks tough but is actually very timid and does everything the uke asks for. Yet, he's strong and has a brave personality. Ryuusuke is the kind of cheerful to the point he's annoying at first, but still manages to get everyone (including the readers) wrapped around his little finger. They are, though, well built and, as Tachibana himself says, Ryuusuke has a lot of façades.

Though I loved it, I can't say it's flawless. The only thing I can particularly say I really didn't like was the sex being this quick and with no conflicts regarding it. So it's okay for an engaged man to have sex with his university friend from whom he's never heard of since and for whom he obviously has feelings for? I don't mind that they're doing something "morally wrong", I mind that they don't care they're doing it. The art's also not to my taste, but it's not bad at all.
Then again, Yukari is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Finally a manga where woman aren't b*tches! On the contrary, she even helps out and is freaking strong as a character! I love her!!

Oh, and the one-shot was really cute! I like the focus being the lips and wanting each other. Though the author says it wasn't supposed to be sexy, I thought the part where the seme said "you look like you crazily wanted me" was really hot...I guess I was expecting a hot sex scene indeed =X

OBS: If I rated this by criteria, it'd be a 7 or so. But I like it too much so I'm making an exception to real evaluation.

Whoa! Good! I liked Yukari best from the main one, and the side story, Lips, best!

Wow, this was great! I loved the main guys and the hijinks that they were involved in, and their dynamic was interesting. Plus, I have at thing for free-spirited characters like Ryuusuke.

But what really fascinated me about this was the fiance, Yukari. She was amazing! I want to read a whole story about her! I really, really loved her. I kind of wish this author did stories about women, too, and that Yukari would get her own story. I'd love to see what she's up to.

Why can't anyone write a main female character like Yukari? She rocks, and yet most people don't write characters like that. Ugh, it's so annoying.

Also, I liked Lips a lot more than the main story. Lips was genius. I'd love to read more about those guys (I prefer ukes to be more like this one - less like a doormat and more like a person).

honestly the oneshot Lips totally caught me more than the main story, if anything i wanted more of that! just because i'm not too fond of ukes that look girly where as in Lips you weren't going to mistake either of them for a girl, yanno? AND it was so freakin sweet, i love the ones that make me go "awwww" and who dosent love a good moe tackle? haha cuteness!

I didn't know what to expect and based on the story description i went into this with low expectations. I was however wrong to think that way ^^ i found this rather refreshing, quite touching too and with enough twists in the story and romance to makes it continuously interesting.

The art style isnt my favourite but given how good the story was i can completely forgive that xD

I liked this. I loved the emotion, it was really well drawn and really well expressed. I loved how the woman actually seemed like a character, not just a thing that is being betrayed. She even benefits, for pete's sake.

yeah, tachibana's cheating without so much as a thought as to whether this is ethical isn't a nice feature, and the fiancee gets removed very conveniently. but hey, the former happens, and the latter is a cheap plot device. add to the negatives that i think ryuusuke is a bit of a bimbo for acting how he did; he really does make very stupid decisions that hurt tachibana badly. but i enjoyed the story anyway, though not quite as much as calling, which didn't have as much angst nor detracting factors. i like that tachibana isn't a stoic seme, but that they're both damn emotional when push comes to shove.

ootsuki's art is really growing on me.

Despite the rather silly and cliché twist, I loved this manga. Ah, it's so very very sweet. Well, this is a subjective rating, but I just completely adore the main story - ah and the extra is nice too. Didn't give it a full score because of the silly twist.
(Note: it's not often that I like a yaoi story that much anymore, and I've read quite a few from that genre)

For yaoi fans, this is worth at least one read.
