Bad, yet surprisingly Good

There are a lot of issues with this plot, from the cliche scenario to character behaviors that make no sense, but there was one thing I really liked about it & that is the portrayal of a character with an internal conflict. This is one of the most normal truths that is usually ignored by yaoi logic: a teenager that notices he/she is attracted to the same sex often goes into denial at first, especially if they live in a conservative society (i.e. East Asia). I found it very natural how Ryu was in denial and even showed extreme rejection towards the idea of homosexuality. And this natural reaction that is rarely seen in yaoi is enough to raise the rating for me~

Plot was strange and characters were terrible

I can't say that the plot was cliche, it was just very strange and unrealistic. I guess in the larger BL industry saturated with terrible plot, this is passable? I had high expectations because the cover art was absolutely beautiful and gave off melancholic vibes. But nah, it was just a very simple and shallow story set in high school.

The characters were what really threw me off though, other than Kaede, I did not feel any love for the rest of the cast. Ryousuke was immature and his "character development" felt forced. Fumi didn't leave a deep impression. And Zono - I honestly thought I would like him when I was reading the first story, but it turns out he became my most hated character, he was absolute trash. So much wasted potential there.

Overall, it wasn't the worst BL out there, but I wouldn't want to read this again.

Confusing
by FeyFujoshi

This is quite the confusing one. It reminded me very much of Subete wa Gunjo, without all the coherence of the storyline.
There are certain crucial story lines aspects that were completely skipped over and I have no idea about them at all. And, when the Chiba-sensei does address one of them in the extra story, it just adds more to the confusion.
Why was Kaede was getting beat up by the seniors? The classroom teacher who, like everyone else saw this, did not intervene, why? If Kaede started running away after meeting Ryousuke, in order not to be beaten up, then why did after falling out with Ryousuke did he start getting beat up again? What happened to Kaede in the washroom-though this is then reflective of my own disgusting inclination as a violence-porn consumer to know this information in visual form, even though what had been supplied by the manga was more than enough.
Personally, I am quite beholden to the art style and the sort of angst shown here because this is my high fantasy; I wish for the same thing to happen to me as well (only the RyouXKae thing though—not the smutty thing between ZonoXFumi, not because of the smut but because of the narrative incoherence). And, as much as I HATE ZonoXFumi, I do still like the inversion that takes place where the sign for ZOno falling in love is that he wasn’t the person he loves to smile rather than make them cry.
Ah, I really do love RyouXKae.

Despite its flaws..

I actually enjoyed this manga to quite a certain degree. I mean the stories are nothing groundbreaking but the colourful cast made up for that, and I gotta say the author did a good job of making her characters all fun and entertaining, which always helps improve the audience's reading experience when the story's writing is still lacking in certain parts. Oh and I really like the art too; it's relatively well-rounded and can be all cute and pretty and hot, so very flexible and pleasing on the eye.
