it would have been better if it wasn't revealed that the main girl is not an actual bitch to the guy and her relationship with the him only became sour because she was weak and selfishly thought that the guy needs to experience the hardship to also become as "strong" as her and allowed herself to be lead around by her so-called "friends" and bully the creep "stalking" her. If she just admitted to loving the guy at his place at the first place, the whole revenge torture thing could've been avoided between them and they could've teamed up even. Misunderstanding and miscommunication truly is the real relationship killer. Now that she decided to accept her punishment, as she believes is his right because she indeed failed him as his only friend, the guy is becoming slowly conflicted by the whole thing. It seems to fall into the redemption route as of chapter 26 anyway where it is implied that the company doing the test could be responsible for all the participant's hardships at the first place. Because how and why were this specific people picked? Unless they are involved and we're aware of the situation at the first place in order to conduct the so-called "tests'. I wish this will go down the Deadman Wonderland route and give happy endings to the cast involved and toppling down the company in the process but that is a long way to go. I only wish the main couple could finally sort out their true feelings before the guy tragically destroys himself fully by accidentally killing the girl without resolving the issue.
