Description
Long ago, there were people who stood upon the earth with their heads held high. They never bowed to anyone because of their indomitable spirit. They were capable of controlling wind and lightning, and conquering dragons and serpents. They seemed strong enough to split the earth and shatter the stars with their fists. They traveled throughout the land and called themselves Magi. Eventually, one of them would become a Supreme Magus! These men are the ancestors of human beings. Their blood is what we all share today.

Mysterious and hard to read for non-Chinese readers, but good nonetheless

This novel should be called "The Era of Shamans" instead of the "The Magus Era".

And as the title says, it's a very mysterious and quite hard to read novel for someone like me (an European). There are many references to the Chinese culture and myths and the authors also uses a lot of idioms. But at some point you get used to it, I guess.

The prologue of the novel is confusing af, but if you can get past that, you'll get to see this is quite an interesting read.

The MC is quite funny in a twisted way (lol), but he has a backbone, unlike his stupid father who puts the clan before anything.
I also have to mention that this MC is very vengeful, "enacting revenge for the smallest grievances" - these are not the very same words he used, but the meaning is the same. The MC admited this particular trait of his by himself (although he said it with a boasting attitude).

Another thing about the MC - expect a very OP MC. After all he was in his previous life the most powerful man in the world; you can't expect him to be pathetic, right?

So far there seems to be no harem or any romance at all. And it's only natural seeing as at this point of the novel, the MC's biological age is of just 10 years old (you should treasure this piece of information as it took me a few tens of chapters to finally learn it).

---------------------------

IMPORTANT: for those with very strong morals and unable to stomach seeing the ugly face of the humanity, those people should not read this novel.
Slavery, slaughtering and raping is a common seen occurrence, being done by almost everyone (except that the MC did not rape anyone).

IMPORTANT 2: this is that kind of novel whose "bad guys" are so vicious that at some point you'll asking every chapter "when is this bitch going to fucking die??"
When the antagonist was finally killed...I'm not ashamed to say that it was so satisfying that I almost had an orgas- ...well not that satisfying, but pretty close lol

---------------------
I'm going to look for a synopsis so that everyone could get a better image about this novel.
-----------
EDIT: I did it.

Hope this review helped ~

to be completely honest, I call this novel a daydream fantasy of a shut in pre-teen who read too many xianxia. Why....
first mc's reincarnation has nothing whatsoever to do with the story.
I have read number of xianxia and have had fair share of stupid characters. but in this novel characters are a whole New brand of morons.
story sequence breaks down quite often. like author could not decide how to end a scene, and cocludes it with a halfhearted paragraph.
mc is supposed to be reincarnation of a powerful being, yet lacks any wisdom and foresight excluding taking petty revenge.
power system for mc is totally confusing.

"Once believed to be at apex of mankind, achieved through sheer rigorous self-education of myths & legends of Tao, Buddhism etc. one man finds himself in an ancient world. A world where monsters, ghouls, ghost exist. A savage world, a world at its natural peak.

Invigorated by this bless chance, he strives again to reach the peak which was beyond his wildest of imagination in this savage desolated lands."

and than there's Man Man....sighs~ >_>"
