Description

The way the topic of being gay is treated here so realistic it is freighting and reassuring at the same time. The whole, “are you gay from birth” thing and how it is possible to do it with a man. There’s also bullying going on but it isn’t sugar coated or glamorized in any way so I love that part about this. But, honestly, it’s kind of sad that the smut had to take precedence over content narration. While there are very important points that the manga address, such as what does it mean to love someone, it only touches on them before quickly moving on. I would have preferred it if there were more conversations. Overall, its actually very heartwarming though.
I love their relationship’s development, how they are both so considerate and the psychological aspect is reasonable. Some of the details of being lovers are appropriately mentioned that they warms my heart.

The first volume really didn't do this story any favors. Character development is shoved to the side in favor of smut; the leads don't have a personality aside from "shy gay guy" and "popular secret-bully guy", and I found neither of them particularly likeable. As it is, it's pretty much a cliché "not-attracted-to-men guy bullies guy who likes him, and ends up falling in love" plot all the way through.
The second volume is better, but with such a rough and boring start, I didn't feel as invested in the leads or the story. It's a (clumsy) attempt to insert plot into what was established as little more than a PWP. It does work, but only if you don't take into account volume 1. I don't know if the manga was planned as a single volume and expanded afterwards, but the difference between them is night and day.
Not much to say about the art, except that it looks stiff for some reason, characters get drawn cross-eyed when facing forward, and Yuki blushes way too often—to the point that it took me out of the story.
If anything, I'd almost recommend reading only the synopsis for volume 1, then reading volume 2. That way you get a much more cohesive story, with better character development. I'd rate volume 1 a 4/10, and volume 2 an 8/10.
