A MUST read it!

Totally Captivated got me TOTALLY captivated!
Really, it's awesome and for sure on top of my yaoi list.
I'm indeed a big yaoi fan, so that means I've read a lot, and I still find this one VERY good.
It's a perfect mix between love and action, with some bittersweet parts that got tears to my eyes and cute chapters that made me scream like the fangirl I am.
Although not much explicit sex even if it's considerated yaoi (and more like shonen-ai), I think it's enough just by the love they have for each other.
I like the mafia background and the way they talk too.
Ewon is cute (not whiny at all, as strong as any seme - well, he was supposed to be one, although I see him as a total uke - and have a very deep mind himself), but...gosh, what is Mookyul?! He's pushy, possessive, sexy as hell, sensitive in his own way, dominant, sadistic, head over heels in love...is there a seme in the world that can be compared to him?! He's the definition of the word PERFECT!
Oh, and the side characters are just as good and interesting too, considering Dohoon is dreamy and Jiho gets quite nice near the end too. I think EVERY ONE OF THEM is likable!
They are all so tridimensional, you'll start thinking they are real people.

What I adore most is the characters emotions' depth and how they're so connected to each other that the love is totally REAL. You really believe they love each other, and I'll have to make myself clear here, since people seem so blind about it: they are complete strangers (or at least they think so) and don't get along well when they meet each other. Ewon drools over Mookyul because he's that hot, but that's it. Mookyul starts to fall in love with Ewon even BEFORE you get to know about their past, as it's easily seen when Ewon rejects Mookyul and he gets all pissy about it. Then Mookyul really falls in love. Like, really. And though at first you'd think it's just possession or desire, you can slowly see his passion getting deeper. And then comes the best part: Ewon's feelings. He doesn't wanna surrender to someone he knows he'll get crazy about, and uses all kind of excuses. But due to Mookyul's tender, sweet and even agressive ways of showing his love, Ewon doesn't stand a chance. When they are finally happy together, Ewon realizes he won't be able to be by himself without Mookyul EVER AGAIN, and tries to get away from even if - and he doesn't realize that himself - it is already too late. THAT'S how their relationship develops, not how a lot of people said, that it was "sudden".

And what about the art? AMAZING. I think Mookyul is the most handsome character I've seen in my life, and Ewon and even Dohoon are just as sexy!

Reeeeeeeeeeeeally, READ IT! NOW!!! *-*

----

EDIT: I've read this manga more than a million times since my first. What can I say? After so many years and no matter how many times I re-read it, it's my favorite ever. Seriosuly, after reading so many other yaoi mangas, I can easily say this is the best one in the world.
And, about all the cheating, I think it's just the opposite of what people are saying: it makes the story more beautiful, not worse. They hurt each other, yes. But how can you complain about Mookyul sleeping with the old man even though he exploded when Ewon was the one who cheated? I mean, Ewon HIMSELF said that to Mookyul! It's only normal that we think they are being jerks sometimes, both of them. Nobody liked when Ewon was whoring around, of course. But what brings magic to this manhwa is how they overcome these obstacles, and how their love is so intense as to survive even all those problems. It makes it stronger. If Mookyul didn't have the old man, would you like the story to have ended when they confessed their love to each other, just like that? It would be like any other yaoi manga. What makes it different is precisely those "flaws". So yes, Mookyul did lie about being with Lee when Ewon asked him to stop, but it's not like he purposely wanted to hurt Ewon. He didn't even think he'd fall in love with someone, so he had that kinda agreement with the old man before he knew he'd have to end it at some point. As you can see throughout the story, Mookyul thought that he'd be abandoned if he stopped sleeping with that guy. Even so, he gives it all up, his money AND friends, to be with Ewon. How can someone thinks that's disgusting?

Totally Captivated had the plot with the best potential ever, and it didn't fail to achieve it. It has all kind of twists and only makes you wanna read it more.

I collect yaoi manga, regardless of the title and what not. Just i collect them in a SLOW MANNER, so that i could be picky and buy the manga worth buying first.

THIS: TOTALLY CAPTIVATED, is one of the few i purcahsed right off the bat, without knowing what it is, and fell in love with it within a chapter. Both the main characters are funny and unique, i love it when the seme falls heads over heels for the uke, and then became confused of what to do. So, TC fit right into my fave list as easily as i fell for yaoi.

10 for me, though the ending couldve been better, and the manhwa could of went longer (though i guess too long would be a prob).

I wasn't too sure whether to buy and read it, but I got hook very early in the story and just couldn't stop reading.I've already re-read it a couple of time, and never get tired of it.

This is barely yaoi, more shonen-ai-ish, but it emphasize on the romance part, with a lot of comic relief, and a bit of action. Over all, a perfect mix of genre, with very deep characterisation, and even the background characters are interesting (ah, Sang Chul). The art is not the best one, but still manage to convey emotions, which is more than enough.

It's cute (in its own way) and very funny. I don't know why, but I love their language. You can really picture the characters talking like gangsters, it's kind of funny.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I'm only at the part when Mookyul abandons everything to be with Ewon (which was so totally super sweet!), which to me seems like it would have been a good ending...but
The story is so good so far, I can't help, but to keep reading! I love it~!

It's fun, cute, violent (?), modern, hilarious, and just overall great, but definitely only appropriate for a certain age group, I'd say, even if there isn't really any extremely explicit sex.

I also was captivated by this piece. I pretty much read everything straight in a row. Becomes quite cheesy later (shoujo ahoi), I didn't expect that. Also since it is listed as yaoi I actually expected yaoi action - but it's very very light. No explicit art at all (sept for the kissing) but they go all the way.

Despite the background (mafia-like?, loan shark etc.) it focuses on its characters, esp. the two main characters and their tag-alongs (no, not annoying ones) and neglects the background pretty much. A little disappointing - hoped for some mafia-like action. But nooo, they are businessmen. Though there's no business action either - heh.
It's still very amusing.

The art is ok with tendency to good... ok it is good, just not entirely my taste. It could be better (esp. the eyes). I liked the chibi faces very much.

It's none of my fave mangas now but it's easy to read, to follow and to continue (since a chapter ends in a cliffhanger).

The TL from netcomics has a lot of foul language (see my title for a small variety ^^) while the few fan-TLs I read didn't have it to that extend.
I wonder what the original had.
I got used to that foul language and caught me using it too when I chatted with someone while I continued reading the manga -.- *cough* lol

The ending is satisfying, even when certain parts are left open.
Oh and don't forget: read from left to right, it's a manhwa.

Much fun. :]

A must read, even if you aren't into the yaoi[genre] you will find yourself wanting more from this manga. Simply brilliant. There is a lot of drama, the manga sinks you deep when you get near the middle of the story, the mangaka had a way with words, it totally captivated me to the point of tears..[Love it!]

I read all the manga, and I have to say it's a very good series, but after I finished the last chapter, I had a feeling it was a bit rushed. I kind of expected a bit more. But I still give this a ten because it was worth reading! smile

Incredible Story

I was hooked from the first chapter. I am not a die-hard Yaoi fan, but I love a good story and this one is definitely on the top of my list. I will re-read it again now that all the chapters are out. I eagerly awaited each chapter to be released. I wanted to cry when the final chapter came out because I did not want it to end. There are very few Yaoi or non-Yaoi that I can say that about.
So, whether you are a Yaoi fan or not, give this a read. It is truly an incredible story.

LOVE LOVE LOVE : ) It is so rare to have a yoai manga longer than a volume but now i know why this one is still ongoing cuz its FREAKING HOTTT!! The uke wasn't some sissy but actually had some serious emotional baggage and was totally aware of that. I liked that he was reluctant and even after they got together he was still strong and demanded exclusivity in their relationship. The seme was a little over the top on masculinity but I guess you can't help that considering his line of work. ANYWAYS just read cuz its the ultimate package of childhood romance, SEXY SCENES, drama, and true love : )
