The MC has a bad temper that he unleashes on those he dislikes. Whoever posts negative comments about him online will get a classic poem or something from Earth, cursing in style. He imports swear words, poems, novels, knowledge, etc. from Earth to the alternate world in order to shock the people and gain fame. The mysterious ring on his finger allows him to buy all kinds of things including skills, stats and consumables in exchange for reputation points gained as he spreads his fame and infamy. By himself he is average. Average looks, average height, average brains. He's also poor enough to call himself the Instant Noodles Hero. And he's terrified of pain.

But just imagine, for example, no spoiler, if you knew all of Shakespeare's works by heart, in a world where there is no Shakespeare. Couldn't you, hypothetically, put those works into writing and publish them to become a world-famous author? Wouldn't you gain die-hard fans? Wouldn't you also gain bitter/jealous enemies in the literary world? That's what IRAS is basically about.

Awesome comedy! You will have a grin from the start to the end of a chapter.

Main character is a shameless rascal and you can't help but admire him.

Side characters are fun as well! The Landlady and her niece are one of the best female characters I have seen in the chinese novels.

Give it a chance. This series would definitely make your day.

MC piss me off. He goes into a game universe and start using the knowledge from his world to get famous. Ok! I would too if I happen to teleport into a world without fire why not play Prometheus? But MC goes extra mile by becoming an absolute asshole. From the text you could get that he is petty, arrogant, rude, hypocritical and very possibly racist. The side characters are one dimentional and the plot is for the heck of it.
Basically the novel is simple fantasy "what if" scenario. The up side - it is full of Chinese trivia! I became interested in some aspects of the culture thanks to this novel.
As a whole I wouldn't recommend it but still moderately enjoyed it for the trivia and for the entertainment value

A ton of asian references, literature, tropes, classic songs/performances, etc, you would likely get it a lot more if you understood mandarin chinese. I had to google a lot of the references to get it, almost wish the author added youtube links to all of his chapters. I'm an overseas chinese, it definitely helped me better understand the legendary Motherland. The subtle/not-so-subtle nationalist chinese tone is hilarious, caters to the chinese crowd for sure. Novel is really good up to Chapter 1100, starts going downhill for a couple of arcs, then back up again past chapter 1400.
