The couple’s relationship is a bit off putting to me and I am not sure how the whole redemption route makes me feel about this manga because nothing really comes out of it. And, I suspect what is happening here is that Narasiki is able to continue what he is doing by thinking something like this, "Because I feel bad about what I am doing, and I try to make amends through other means (which also includes the bad things that happen to me), this means that I am not really a bad person", and this is the thought that Narita-sensei also tries to justify through the love that eventually blossoms between the two main characters. Furthermore, rape is then justified not only as something deserving but as something good as well.
However, I actually quite like this, especially its take on the portrayal of the porn industry and how women (especially women!!) are victims of male sexualization and predation. I have no knowledge of how satisfied Narita-sensei herself is with this work, and how much pressure there was to make this sell-able, but I just can’t help but wonder how much more wonderful this could have been. Because despite of ALL the wrong decisions and romanization of trash behavior, quite ironically enough, this manga manages to do something which so many other spectacularly fail at (especially in yaoi): center women’s experience and strong female leads. Oh, and the art is absolutely gorgeous.

This is a story that can only exist in BL, but that doesn't mean it was so ridiculous to the point of being unenjoyable. There are a few quite LOL-worthy moments that flow naturally because the jokes are clever and well-delivered, and then some other instances could be pretty thought-provoking too and will catch you off-guard because you didn't expect it. The author is actually rather skilled at controlling the audience's mood with her narration, which is not something every storyteller is capable of. I wouldn't say that this story is a favourite of mine, but the mangaka has definitely caught my attention.
