Overrated

I'm a fan of the author's work, really. Her premises are a bit different, her characters are decent, and the art is fun, too.
Beast Master? It was fun! Short, to the point, and gets its story across pretty well in two volumes.

This manga is currently nine volumes long, and what's been established so far could have been resolved within two volumes. I think the whole idea of this hacker thing is getting a bit silly; and the characters are starting to go in that pattern where they leave each other and come back, etc, following through on story arcs that pretty much go no-where, and often don't even contribute to character growth. I think it could be on the verge of hitting the climax, and therefore reaching a close, but the author could drag it out. Nevertheless, for its simplistic story, I still feel it's too long. Too many redundancies for what could have been a short and sweet manga.

Something really different...

The most beautiful love story I've ever read till now. It has humor in it, the characters are drawn beatifully, plot is interesting and you can't get bored in any way, you may also cry here and there and you're always excited when you see Teru and Kurosaki together. Kurosaki is one of the most beautifully drawn and conceptualised male character. He has many sides to him but all of them are acceptable for readers and they are constructed in a way for you to love them after his very first appearance in the manga. I would really recommend this piece of work to anyone, because I haven't bumped into a cliche yet, and Im sure in that I won't, because manga is just fantastic!

Not your typical shoujo

This is a story, jam packed with mystery, suspense, heart ache, and love. It has an intricate hacker plot, so if you're not into that and are looking for a fluffy romcom, then this probably won't be your favourite. The characters are compelling, And a times, I'm not gonna lie, it gets heavy. So just make sure that you're up for that when the time comes. The romance is slow, I will say, but it's built on friendship, love, and trust. There's no lame love triangle, and no breakup side story where they're all sad and broken up for 5 chapters, no. Teri and Kurosaki have a healthy relationship built on trust and mutual respect for each other. I love this shoujo, it is one of my all time favourites.

(well, really my bed xD)
C: it is one of the best mangas EVER.
I love this author<3 They have some of the most unique stories ever!
The main lead is strong, smart, and very funny. The whole STORY is funny (it is a comedy)
And it is also extremely captivating.( it is a mystery)
Usually, I hate mysteries. I'm like "PSH STUPID WANNA BE SHERLOCK HOLMES"
But this isn't one of those stories where the main lead is all "Spy like" and is searching really hard for the answer. No, it's more realistic than that (the characters' personalities are, if not the story line).
The main lead is aware something is up, but isn't thinking she's a 1st class investigator and being an idiot trying to find out what it is. That is one of the reasons this is the ONLY mystery I've ever read. I took a chance, being iffy about it at first.

and it is now easily in my top 5 mangas. c:

I love this, and It's good for ALL type of manga lovers, i think. <3 c:

so READ it biggrin

Great Shoujo!

This is an amazing shoujo! Amazing art, a unique storyline, mystery, and the cliches of every single shoujo ever made! But it's NOT like every other shoujo! It's main characters aren't weaklings with horrible chemistry, they go great together. They don't just throw themselves into the romance, they get there gradually, all the while acting as unsure about it as real people. The cute little moments they share are enough to tide anyone over until the next little moe moment. I really suggest reading this! I've read it at least twice so far, despite the fact it isn't over yet LOL!

I misjudged the manga at first. But now once I've started to read it, it is really good. There is so much to unveil, and so far, it never crosses the line of "overly cute". The feelings are genuine and realistic. The main girl is strong and sensible--something that MOST shoujo heroines tend to lack. And she's kind.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Just read the most recent chapters, and I just cried. I just feel that things will take a turn even after she knows the truth. They just need each other. It is such a pure love between the two, and I definitely am looking forward to reading more

I highly recommend giving the series a chance. =)

OK, so it's been around a year since I started reading "Dengeki daisy" and now I've read up to vol 8, so I think it's time I wrote a proper review about the series.

First thing, I have to admit I was attracted to the "romance" and typical shoujo stuff at the beginning of the story (well I'm a girl after all and it's not like I can forever abandon shoujo even if I've matured out of the "shoujo period" a girl has to go through at some time in her otaku life).
AND Kyousuke-sensei also stated that this series was supposed to be a 3-chapter publication at 1st, so it certainly couldn't really have a serious plot or characters development. That's why you might feel like it's a bit cliché if you've only read a few beginning chapters. This is probably the reason a lot of people found the manga "cliché and boring" and decided to quit it (they're really retared impatient IDIOTS).

However, as you can see, right now there've been 9 vols published and the manga's one of the highest-rating series in all manga sites and all manga genres. To put it that far, it's undeniable that the author had definitely managed to create sth special, or at least sth that would interest readers, or else it would be another shoujo-failure right away.

I'm not saying ALL of you out there agree with this, but come on, let's face it, this series is mind-blowing and I have to say the story's actually quite deep while not being too dark or angsty. Right now I'm at vol 8 where the characters' pasts have been unveiled and I realize all the details that have been mentioned in earlier volumes actually have meanings behind them and they connect logically to the story later on. Nothing's unnecessary and everything's all well-put.

The art isn't bad, and in fact it's quite nice, although not too superb or eye-catching, but somehow I feel it gives the story a depth that way, as the characters are real people and nothing's too fake or affected like many other shoujo mangas.

All in all, in my opinion, this is sth different (well not at 1st but you gotta be patient, come on) and I thoroughly enjoy reading till now. You should DEFINITELY give it a try it and decide if you like it or not later.

Cliched but Cute

Dengeki Daisy, while being full of cliches that are so prevalent in Shoujo manga still manages to maintain its cuteness and the aww.. moments. The plot is interesting, the art is good but the humour can get repetitive at times. The story just drags in some places when the characters - especially Kurosaki - gets into angsty backstory mode.
Also the manga seems to promote smoking. The main character is actually a chain smoker. Who would want to kiss someone who is smoking?
Still, Teru is a breath of fresh air from the simpering manga heroines who can't seem to think for themselves. The plot is very unique for a shoujo. The hero while being depressed is not a total jerk. I say go for it if you have some time to waste.
