Re-reading after 2-3 years and… I found something weird to relate to

First I have to say that I really love this. The art is gorgeous, the story is well-paced and the characters are likable and consistent.
The first time I read this it was already a 10/10, but I remember the way he
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
confessed and ran away
pissed me off so much that I almost hoped Wataru would dump his sorry as*
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
after the punch.

This time, the story was relatable in an ironic way.
Last year, when my childhood friend (whom I’ve had a crush on for more years than I can count) told me she’s getting married (simplified & less dramatic version of events -_-), I got a study/work opportunity and went to another country for 3 months without telling her & later I came back, confessed, and then blocked her, effectively cutting her out of my life after almost 18 years of friendship😅

When I read this story before, I was quite harsh in judging Chiharu (Saeki), but now I know first-hand how people need a respite from such strong feelings when they reach a breaking point…
I still think he was jumping the gun since his situation was not nearly as hopeless and complicated, but I guess people have different tolerance levels… anyway~

I like this story even more now!

Classic Romance stuff

Very wholesome read the whole way through. No major conflicts going on here which makes it a relaxing read. Do kinda wish the backgrounds existed more in some places, but the food and different settings look very nice and movie-like. Toda is honestly based for not really flinching to Saeki's confession. And naturally, he slowly catches the gay. The trips to the different movie locations is neat, fun, and relatively carefree, though it seems like the movie they talk about isn't real(?)

Saeki was always a looker it seems and he never took his eyes off of Toda. The third extra is really heartwarming to see Saeki set his plans into action. I really love his facial expression in the two page spread before chapter 5, I read a physical copy and it was colored which was really amazing.

My biggest issue with this was really nothing happened and the simplicity of the love story. It's a fine story but nothing groundbreaking. I did appreciate how things wrap around and connect early things said in the story to moments near the end, but it felt a bit predictable and cliche of a romance story. Also, Toda's family exist but each of 'em get like one brief mention.

Pure,True, Absolutely Fated Precious Love!!!

Everything in this fic Amazing! It was Tender, Precious, Sweet, Fluff, Beautiful, Wonderful, Heartwarming, literally Perfection!!!
It was Absolutely Perfect BL High School Romance Manga Ever!!!
Wataru is truly Lovable Character! His action and reaction with everything he faced is perfect with his feelings. Saeki is also Lovable in a way that he was patient and caring, grateful with his times with Wataru but also with obvious flaw. Their Relationship is Beautiful with how they keeping their friendship even when the feelings of the present and the growing romantic love is there. It was rare seeing manga keep friendship before 'more' without so much intense awkwardness but without ignoring that one of them harbour romantic feelings and they both aware of it.
And when they're Finally Together is Beautiful Well Done!!!
I'm Absolutely in LOVE!!!

Summer story about movie lovers

Nagisa Furuya is my favorite BL artist. Her mangas are always 10/10 for me.

My favorite of Nagisa Furuya. I love everything about this manga.
Movies aspect. I liked how characters actually have something in common, share some interest, have something to talk about. That makes them not so typical BL characters who are together but don't have much to talk about. And that's actually amazing.
Dynamics.

That was surprising for me that confession happened so early in the manga.
And the characters were just progressing through the story with that in mind. That's not that typical scheme. That made this manga different for me. You can say it didn't change that much, but it actually did. A lot.
Plot twist. As every good plot twist, it was unexpected. At least for me. I didn't see it coming! And it made this story so much more interesting.
I would recommend this manga for every person who loves cute shounen-ai stories. Must read for fluff lovers!

i can't believe I didn't leave any comments on furuya-sensei's works. they're so damn good! i always hated how lots of times when a character gets confessed to, the drama would be created by the character reacting all viscerally unintentionally and putting the other character off. and then the other character becomes distant and the one who got confessed to doesn't like it and has to apologize...such a lazy way to drive a plot and create drama! this manga does none of that and has the character accept the confession as it is, while still creating internal conflict.

i also love how this manga takes place in the summer. gives such great feelings of nostalgia and youth. i agree that the childhood plot was unnecessary, but it was still really sweet. that hug killed me!

The story itself is nothing to write home about (and I'm not too fond of the narration method used to reveal the 'reasoning' near the end either; it was just anti-climatic and dry), but I can't deny that I ended up grinning like an idiot at how much the couple is in love with each other - the type of sweet, pure and innocent love without any cloud of selfish or murky motives behind it that'll warm your heart and bless your soul. You can always count on this mangaka to come up with the most charming characters, and I just really like her style too. So while this title is not my favourite from hers, I still enjoyed it quite a lot.

Brilliant Start....Cliche Past
by KanranSei

Okay so this manga starts off really, really brilliantly if you already like Furuya Nagisa's work and you got what you expects. High school trope is a classic that would never go old and the premise was fresh. The chemistry was soft and nice too although their relationship from the start wasn't depicted too detailed. It's rare to see a love confession so smooth and pure at the start of a shounen ai manga, with the confessing party already acknowledging what he felt. I was soo ready for a bittersweet happy ending.
However I really do not have any idea why Furuya-sensei feels that it is necessary to give them that kind of past and make them already met as a child in situation like that. I think it is really unnecessary, feels so cliche and overdone in another manga. It would be better to just ditch the part and just make them two teenagers that just met at high school and their relationships were actually starts there. Even if Furuya-sensei ditch that childhood plot, there won't be much change in the manga. I mean, people can totally, absolutely fell in love deeply and admire someone they just met at high school, like two or three years ago. Why does it have to be started from a fleeting moment they met at childhood?

Other than that part this manga is really nice and fresh and worth to read like every other of Furuya's sensei's manga.
